I'm starting to think a turbo may never find it's way onto my [...]
There is no rule saying a turbo/supercharger has to run at high pressure. Sure, some people want to try and more than DOUBLE their power, but many others would be more than happy with a 70% increase, or maybe 50% (both are still HUGE gains). The higher the pressure, the most likely there will be damage. Run at 5 or 6 psi instead of 8-11 psi and perhaps the problems disappear.... The major issue is that there is no way to know the limits without people having failures first
(I do have some experience, I added an aftermarket Jackson Racing supercharger on my second car).
