Indeed it might. The injection system is designed with certain exhaust system in mind. This is ESPECIALLY true for
programmed (mapped) injection systems, such as that used on the C14.
If you're cats are gone, and you gut the Delk, there wouldn't be much back pressure...
and some back pressure's a good thing!
And yet, we have also seen through other topics on the forum that neither the cats nor the muffler create much restriction at all.... and their removal doesn't really improve performance in any meaningful way. The stock exhaust system is balanced with the stock intake system (headers, throttle bodies, air intake, filter box, etc) so unless all that is changed too, it is like taking a 1" water hose that is connected to a faucet, then connecting that hose to a 2" hose, and suddenly expecting more water to flow.... not going to happen.
What you end up with is just loud, annoying, and illegal. I mean, if you are going to go through all the effort and possible expense to be all three, it would maybe make SOME sense if it would least amount to something productive....
