I have abs, so it might be against a law or ordinance for me to change the seal....

Assuming I can get Federal Clearance to swap the seal, I'll swap the bearing only if I have to. If the seal is under the bearing, I'll just cut the old bearing off with a dremel cut off wheel. Cheaper than having someone press the bearing off.

I prefer nto to swap the bearing as your supposed to change out the race when you change the bearing. Thats a hassle.

BUT, it all might not happen , anyway. I've got different grips....

Do we know if its the top seal, or bottom?

Nothing at all...it was a reference to that previous post where it was mentioned..just in fun.

I went through five different seal sets on my yz 250. When Yamaha switched that bike to aluminum frame, they left a path on top of the steering head and it funneled water in. You'd park the bike, for the winter, go back a month later, and the bearing had welded itself to the race, with rust.

I tried parts from Honda and Suzuki in an attempt seal it better. The Honda seals added a bunch of drag, btu kept water out, so thats what i ended up staying with.

You noticed the sensation of the tight seals instantly, but it was a big..whatever....You could get that light, no drag sensation by using moly lube on the bearings. The steering felt heavier when using that thick, marine grade bearing lube, bu tit was still no big deal.

Man you had me going there because I thought getting a seal changing permit depended on the color of your bike and weather or not you had a stock seat.

Yeah, other than the really sweet green color, the updates are a full-on 'meh'. CRUISE CONTROL. You hear that mama Kaw? Next upgrade might be a 14R at this rate.

I like the green color on dirt bikes and sport bikes but it doesn't seem right on the Concours for some reason. But I will be bringing a tape measure and camera with me to the motorcycle show or my local dealer to check out that windshield vent. I'm hoping they actually did some engineering to determine the proper size and shape for a worthwhile benefit.

if I wanted a windshield with a mail slot I would have bought a wing or another Harley touring bike. I am not impressed at all with the looks of the hole nor have I ever thought I needed one!

I really like the green, but I think on this bike it might get old a little fast.

In reality most holes aren't really that attractive, but if they are useful, I like them.

I think it could be very useful, I just think the way they styled it is crazy ugly!

I like it too, but wouldn't buy it myself... it is way too "look at me" for me. Concours owners tend to be a little more... well..... "low-key" so it is a surprising color to offer. I know lots of people will dig it, though.

Yes, but those people already own a Concours which has 120,000 miles on it, and they don't plan to sell it.
They are going for the reckless owners who want to carry two people on their ZX14.

My Connie may be black, but my Hi-Viz Olympia one piece riding suit, Bell RS-1 HI-Viz helmet, Sliders Hi-Viz gloves, as well as the Amber LEDs, and Mondo Lights say "look at me" in a big way.

Cagers move out of my way sooner when I am dressed like that than when I am in black leathers.

To me, color doesn't matter, dedication does. Here's proof of just that. Enjoy that dedication, 44 years ago...I started riding right before this show hit the airwaves. It meant much more to me than Easy Rider ever did...tp
