O.K., so, if I had not decided to also at the same time, add my blinking LED's (brake only) made by StreetFX, I could have had this done in less than an hour and that's only because I have never taken the back of the bike apart. Had I done that before and been familiar, I could have had it done in about 20-25 minutes.

So, it's installed and within 2 minutes of each reading, I was able to check the stock light and the replacement light for brightness. Granted, this is a sensor on a camera and is using a program to check the lighting for taking pictures (values are in "Lux"), but it's the first one I found that looked easy to use.
Stock light, running: 40 lux
stock light, brake: 320 lux
aftermarket, running: 225 lux
aftermarket, brake: 640 lux

Ignore the white cable ties, they will be removed as they are only on there for the adhesive to set on the LED's:

Here is how far I had to take things apart:

Here is a quick and dirty video I took after getting everything installed:
VIDEO0006.3gp

Well worth the money (under $30 shipped or $40 shipped if you do the buy-it-now).

SV,
I have a set of hyperlites too that I want to connect just like you have on your reflectors.  How did you tie them into the brake circuit?  Do I need a vampire tap into the tail light somehow?

Thanks,
Nate

Nate, mine are the 'El Cheapo version of Hyperlites, they are made by StreetFX and all they do is flash, but they are bright (a little less than the hyperlites). I just tapped directly into the brake light (spliced in some spade connections in case I decide to remove it (don't think it will happen).

Actually I have the exact same lights! :) But thanks, I just wanted to make sure the current draw wasn't too much and caused an issue with the tail light.  Be safe!

Definitely not a current draw issue as the StreetFX lights take very little power. Go for it!

Cannot get my Hyperlites to work with this new tail light(no blinking). Does anyone else have this issue and if so, what is the fix.
Thanks.

You need to explain what you mean when you say they won't work.  Do the hyperlites not blink?  Do the integrated signals in the new tail light not blink?  Do neither of them blink?  Do the stock signals still blink regardless of the other two?  Do the hyperlites blink if the the tail light's integrated signals aren't connected?  Do the integrated turn signals work if the hyperlites aren't connected?

Not working meaning they do not operate as advertised. No more blinking when brakes are applied, just goes from running lights to steady bright. If I reverse the red and grey wires, it goes to a steady blinking pattern when the running lights are on. I installed the Ebay light without the signal option so If you need anymore info, please don't hesitate to ask.

Did the hyperlites work properly before the new tail light, or did you install the hyperlites after the new tail light?

Not sure what the issue is, but my Back-Up XP will not make the ebay brake light flash. I did not hook up the integrated turn signals. But I can plug in the stock tail light and the brake lights will give 5 quick flashes and then steady burn. Unplug the OEM and plug in the ebay .... no flash.
Not complaining.... what should I have expected for $17? I am putting the OEM back in before this thing back feeds and blows out an ECU

Very odd, mine is working perfect and I'm very happy with it, much better and brighter than the stock one IMO...

I'm not using the blinker integration though, just tail light and brake light.

The Chinese Mafia is involved in a conspiract with the production of this farkle...designed to cause our C-14's to fail at a pre-determined time...not allow proper flashing of brakes like a Japanese product will function...sell it cheap so all our poor un-employed bikers in the USA who live on a shoestring will buy it.....make it look cute...then they stick it to us with multiple problems shortly after installation......

Guess we all need to return them and be thankful it does not allow our engines to sieze up too!

This light has the standard three wire connector and two yellow wires.  What do the two yellow wires do and where should they be connected?

You have not read the thread!
They are for the undocumented turn signal function.  Not really needed for the Concours, since it has decent turn signals.

Depends what you mean by undocumented.  The EBay page says that it has integrated turn signals.  However, the unit comes with no directions saying that's what the yellow wires are for.

It also doesn't say the turn signals blink amber....
