I want a brand new Concours for under $12.5k

After test riding a pristine Gen2 FJR1300 last night I'm certain that I want to keep a Concours as my forever bike.
I have an 08 thats due for valves, brakes, and tires and after doing the math I'm willing to sell it it or trade it in for a brand new one. I know these have gone down to sub $12k at some dealers and there are a handful on ebay in the $11k range....but in the midwest.
Does anyone know of a dealer in Northern California that will sell in the low $12k right now? I don't care if its 2012 or 2013 but I do only want red or silver.
I found a red 2012 in SoCal for $13.8 OTD (tax, lic, the whole thing)
I think the new ones are uglier than mine but I do like the heated grips and better over all package....plus it'll be broken in and maintained by me. Is the gas mileage really better?

Don't know what your taxes are like out there, but $13.8 out the door sounds reasonable to me.  I paid $12.8 for my '12 in May of '12 before taxes and that was the best deal I could find.  My local dealer couldn't or wouldn't price match and told me he would be losing money selling it for that.  The dealer made $54 unless Kawasaki had some secret dealer incentive.

Good Luck.  Personally, I have to look closely at the 1400 Concours to determine if it is a '08-'09 or later model.  Just don't see that much difference to matter.  I knew I would end up changing windshields and adding heated grips though if I had bought one of the earlier ones.

Do you still have to buy a new bike from a Ca dealer? If not there are deals around for $11,000 that you could have shipped to you.

There was a 2013 here in Washington state but it was blue but priced at 13K.  Helped someone here buy a 2012 for 11,990.  Heck of a price.

We can't tell you what color you will like.  Personally, I don't like either black or blue.  If forced to choose between them, I would probably pick blue.  But what do YOU like?

I have to admit I probably would.  I was fortunate enough to get exactly the color I wanted- silver (yours is not silver but probably that 2008 silvery light baby blue color; which is not bad... some call it "silverdamnit").  I do like that burgundy color quite a lot, however, and would have gone for that as a second choice.

It is a shame one can't order the color desired, or at least have more choices available at any one time.

I wanted Kawasaki Green and cruise control, but decided to buy a black one instead of waiting an unforeseen amount of time for something that might happen one day. 

In '07 I bought the Candy Plasma Blue Ninja 650, and the next year they put out the Lime Green.  Oh well.

I bought the '11 Versys in Cardinal Metallic Red, and in '14 they came out with Candy Lime Green and ABS.  Oh well.

I bought the '12 Concours in Black and who knows if they will ever come out with green and cruise control. 

I have enjoyed all my bikes regardless of color.  Too me color is only important for bikes you admire but don't ride.  When your riding it doesn't matter what color it is.

So, I will find friends with Lime Green Ninjas, Candy Lime Green Versys and admire their bikes while I ride.  Just like I admire the photos of Jay's Green Concours.

Apparently 2010 had the perfect blue and 2013 has much less than perfect ricey blue.
I might do black.

If you don't really like the available colors, the black will be the easiest to get used to. Eventually it will grow on you especially after you get a tinted windshield. I still like my 2011 silver but black would be my choice for 2013. I even changed my 2012 Ninja to all metallic spark black.

I guess I must be in the minority.  Silver would probably be my last choice of available colors.  I had a similar situation when I got my 2013 and I chose blue over black because I like the metal flake and the fact that it's a little darker blue.  The black wheels also set it off nicely.  Get the color you want, you're the one that has to ride it.
