  • It's only really cold if you fall down in it.
    • C-14 farkles you almost cannot ride without.
Me too, same e-mail. Good stuff!

I just hope all you guys sent in three receipts like I did and each have three front tires on the way....

 ;D

Poor Pirelli, they just did not see this demand coming- hey, me either. Just a guess on my part but I bet they did not have a tire purchase (the shipping charge of $25) in place and given the overwhelming participation along with all of 'us' talking via 'social media', they decided to just ship the tires without making us wait any longer than necessary. Kudos to them for customer service though, and what appears to be a good understanding that news about a company and a product, good and bad, spreads quickly. Some people are no doubt waiting for that front tire and making them wait long enough that some would have to buy a different front tire due to the delay in receiving the one from Pirelli would result in some cranky forum exchanges no doubt.

  • know who you are
guys, please help me with my next purchasing: which tires are you getting: GT, GT A? (front and rear, please)
Regarding the rear: did you order the original size 190/50-17, or somebody went for the 190/55-17?
thanks

I bought a straight Angel GT (not the 'spec'd version) in 190/55- 17. The 55 series are a bit more nimble and just about correct the speedometer error in my opinion at the cost of what seems like a LOT of weight- the 55's seem to be a lot heavier than a 50 but I have never had two new tires of the same brand and type to actually compare them. Might just be my imagination. Other than perhaps more weight, and I could be wrong about that, I do not see a downside to running a 55 series on the back of a C-14.

My local dealer matched the online price and he ordered a GT-A 190/50R17 for me.

190-55-17 on mine, no A spec available at the time.

Somebody said the A spec was way heavier. Compared to what?   The old tire that came off? Old tires are LIGHT because a large portion of the rubber is gone.

I was gonna try a 55 but figured I would give the A spec a shot and it was not avail in a 55 so 50 it was.

If you mount your own tires, stop and eat a bowl of Wheaties before tackling one of those. If not, don't stand too close to whomever does mount your tires while that person actually does it- you might hear some really bad words. The carcasses on those tires are really stiff and they mount.... with gusto. :-)

Pirelli says A spec is for the C-14.  So no 55 this time, next time though.
I always wanted to be somebody......I guess I should have been more specific.

I had my Angel GT-A rear tire installed yesterday. Great looking tire! I didn't get much of a chance to ride after that but I did scrub it in a bit on the way home.  :)
