Sorry to hear that :(

OMG, that is an out and out lie.  If they do not give you both keys, they could get in BIG trouble with Kawasaki corporate when you tell them....

+1. Drop a dime on them, get your second key, move on to a new dealer, enjoy the bike!

There is no cooling off period in California. I am on honestly sick over this whole thing.

Wot JJ sed.

I paid more than MSRP for my '94, I'm still a happy camper. Many miles, many smiles, and you can't put a price on that. If you could, they'd tax it! (and I can't afford that bill ;) )

Drop a dime to Mamma K about the second key, find a different dealer, then go ride :) Life is too short.

Also let them know about the forums and how you are spreading the word, also remember how you were treated when you get the Survey from Kawasaki ref the keys.

Now, lets see that nice bike!

Not giving you this info to make you feel bad just the facts. Here in NC I bought a new in the crate 2012 for $13,798 plus tax 3% Plus $133 for license plates and doc fee. I got zero % financing for the entire amount for 48 months. If you we're paying cash the price was $12,798. You give up the $1000 rebate if you take the financing deal. You will get a phone call from Kawi in a few days asking for a email to provide a detail survey on the buying experience.  I would get on Yelp ASAP and name the dealership and salesman by name and let the public know what a lying scumbag this douche bag is.

The second key was in my owners manual envelope and it is a lot smaller than the fob.

Good Luck,

Since the dealership in NJ closed that was selling at crackhead cheap prices, I'll be doing business with this outfit.  No hidden fees here...just buy the bike and pay the state tax and tags on  $12,798.00

I use an iPad to post here, and I can't figure out how to post pictures from it. Does anyone know?

I'm upset, but I realize at this point, what's done is done. Rather than dwelling on the negative, I will just choose to move on and enjoy the motorcycle.

The bike is a 2012 in burgandy.

So, anyone in SoCal want to go riding?

You do understand the ramifications of having only one key/fob don't you? If you lose that one you will be VERY properly screwed! The bike can NOT be turned on by any means without a fob that has been programmed into the bike's ECU and a new fob can NOT be programmed into the bike's ECU without turning the bike on first. If you lose that one fob you will have to spend another $800 - $1,000 to get the bike going again.

Get that second fob ASAP!

That is where I bought my Concours last spring.  My dealer wouldn't come close to the price.  Even considering my plane ticket to fly there.  The ride home was great, but the riders in SC are definitely cruiser snobs.

+1  Bought a Wing from Keith, fantastic service.

The 12 Candy Arabian Red is a beautiful color.  As stated, get that 2nd key YESTERDAY.  I would go back to the dealer, show him a picture of the credit card key you were supposed to get, and call Kawasaki Customer Care from his showroom with him standing right there.  After the warranty, 1500 in taxes, and 0% you will be fine.  Hell, I have over 3K in Farkles on my bike.  Its just money.

 - my guess is that he is mistaken.

 - ie , he was actually supplied the ONE FOB and ONE CARD KEY.

- and he (mistakenly) thinks that he should have gotten TWO FOBS

Ok, the deal has been struck. Lesson learned. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. Once bitten....., etc. Good advice to move on an enjoy this fine machine.

BUT. Make sure you get the key and the card/key as shown above. If the dealer truly didn't supply it, he's lying to you, out-and-out. As others said, not having your properly supplied back-up key could cost you big $$$ down the road. You are owed the second key. It is part of the new bike. Make your dealer get it right.

I could not find a  2009 Diamond Candy Red in Ohio in Sept. 2008. I saw a Sportcycles ad on Ebay, called and spoke to Keith. He said they would get one and have it by the end of the week. We drove down on Thursday, stayed in a B&B about 50 miles from Rockingham and drove in Friday and loaded up my new 09 Diamond Candy Red Concours. Great price back then for a recently released bike and great guys to deal with. Anytime I get the inkling for a new bike I will contact Keith.

Indeed, you want that second FOB. It came in the crate with the bike (already programmed).
