Look I totally agree with you that there is more of a market for the previous gen Concours, but I don't get to decide which bikes take priority. Which bikes are on our list to bring in, and how far up the list they are is a constant debate between my manager and I.

......

Now if you guys can show me some really good reasons why the 08-09 Concours should take priority over the 10-12 model then I'll take that info to my boss and try to get that model pushed through.

1) Fuel managment for the 08-09 C-14s will be the same as for a 2010-12 C-14.
2) 08-09  and some 2010s C14s didn't have traction control and there are bikers that would like to add that to their 08,09 & 10s.
3) By doing an 08-09 model year C-14, you will end up with one device that will support ALL Model Years of C14's that are currently on the road.

Now this is coming from someone that owns a 2011 C-14.

If they're exactly the same electronically, why wouldn't I just make a system on the current model, then verify that it works on the 08-09 and make a different map if necessary?

Let me see if I get this right. A guy from a well known and highly respected tuning organization that tuned bikes for Matt Mladin while he was winning every AMA sbk title this side of Scott Russell and the other side of Ben Spies comes in here and offers a FREE engine management product if you give him your bike for a week or so and you (some of you) clowns want to give him crap about not doing it on the particular model year your bike happens to be?????
I'm surrounded by idiots. What a bunch of maroons.

All kidding aside. If there is anyone close you should take them up on their offer before they rescind it. Great products. Seriously

The usual whining that took up an inappropiate amount of room on the MCE page.  Now I am beginning to realize why the children now all expect to get  something if another child gets something, and when they don't they whine, whine, whine like spoiled children. This fella made a reasonable offer and no one in the area has took him up on it. I wish he were in Florida.

Whining or offering to purchase products IF the company would make them?  Bazzaz has the knowledge and ability to offer traction control to an 08-09 if we show them demand is there, which would be amazing.   Not to mention their prices are very reasonable for what you get. .

Well I got three email over the weekend from local riders with the new model, so hopefully we can get this ball rolling.

Oh and Kinetic, you cracked me up with that post, because it's so true. But you should see the response I got on the Goldwing forums, they booted me because I wasn't a "Paying Vendor, and was considered spam."

Once I get the kit done for the 10-12 I'll see about getting the 08-09 in to test fitment on.

I am going to stoop to your level. Show me where people gave him a hard time. Rather, folks are excited enough for the product that they want to know if they would make one for the 08 - 09 model that did not have a factory setup. He wants reasons and some folks gave it. Most folks from the 11 - 12 version might not chime in because they already have a factory option. And as Bazzaz rep point out, some already PMed or emailed him. Everything was a good discussion - and that is what a forum is for - until you come and spout nonsense. And to Bazzaz rep - great way to get some customers by insulting them by agreeing with this moron. You know at least one guy who will not touch your product with a foot long pole.

Awaz, I agree with you in that Kinetic's post was not of the highest level, and Bazzaz rep shouldn't show much empathy, but I couldn't care less if he thinks I'm a moron as long as he sells a good product at a fair price.
My dealer might think what he pleases. He works great and keeps my bike running perfectly and dealing with any warranty item, and doesn't rip me off. That's enough for me to give him my business. I'm not planning to marry him.

I volunteer my 08...  However it is not stock - I have a full Muzzy Exhaust, BMC Air filter, Power Commander V with Auto Tune, and ZX14 throttle bodies with the secondary butterflies removed.  I would love to remove the Power Commander for one of your units though.  I have been to the track allot and know allot of guys who race and swear by your products.  I am in Arizona and would drive out and leave the bike with you and then fly back and pickup when ready and let everyone know what the results were as well as my experience with your shop.  I never let my bike out of my sight especially at the dealer but I trust your expertise and knowledge so I know it will be safe in your hands.  I have dyno sheets that I can bring as well so you can compare but basically it is at 150hp to the rear wheel currently with the same fuel economy as before when cruising.

Like previous people pointed out the 08 and up all have the same engine and are pretty close to identical minus the traction control and econo mode switch.

Let me know when your ready 480-338-1681.

Thanks,
Kirk

Sorry guys, I forget that once I get outside the sport bike scene no one knows who we are. You got it right, Bazzaz.net is our website. Bazzaz makes aftermarket fuel controllers with a digital interface, similar concept to Dynojet's Power Commander if you're familiar with those. We also have fuel controllers with quick shift and traction control options, as well as an auto mapper fuel mapper kit. Our systems go a little bit more in depth than Dynojet's; we tap into more sensor signals to get the most accurate information possible, and our software is a little more intuitive to use. For bikes that have eight injectors our systems controls all of them without the need for any additional modules. My personal experience with our fuel controllers and our competitions' is that ours yield a much smoother tune, because of our faster processing speed, and firmware design.

We will probably get to the older Concours eventually, but right now as we're breaking into the Sport Touring market we're focusing on the current models.

I see you offer a unit for the 06-11 ZX-14, so jumping into the 08-later version C14's shouldn't be a big jump  :-\

Big jump. Starting with the variable valve timing.

All that actuates the system is a solenoid valve controlled by the ECU. It is a "on" or "off" function that flows more oil into the VVT system. It can only run the cam full advanced or fully retarded, not constantly vary it in half-degree increments anywhere in between.

Now you're taking what I said too seriously. Everywhere I go to look for bikes I get more "why don't you make a system for my bike" questions than volunteers for the model I'm looking for. If you disregard Kinetic's "idiots and moron" comment, which was probably just sarcasm anyways, than what he said was just very funny from my point of view.
Obviously I would like to make a system for every fuel injected bike ever made, especially Kawasakis because they're my personal favorite, but I gotta go one bike at a time. An the more bikes we cover the faster I can develop kits for other models because some harnesses and parameters will cross over between generations or even between models. We do have a kit for the ZX14, if we're lucky than that harness will fit the Concours. After I get everything done for the 10-12 I can bring the 08-09 in and hopefully that kit will translate over directly to the previous generation.

I never got the chance to learn about the VVT system when I was in school, but it sounds really similar to Honda's V-TEC system. Obviously it's not switching between 2 and 4 valves, but it's using oil pressure to vary the amount of incoming fuel mix and the speed at which it can escape. Except that I'm guessing on the Concourse the "engagement point" can actually be changed by the ECU, which is what makes it "Variable?"

Howdy folks. Just spoke with Jason at Bazazz. My 2011 C-14 will be the test bed for his fuel controller development. Feeling pretty fortunate; didn't see this offer until last Friday and was worried I'd miss out on this great deal. Thanks Jason!  :)
