My question is has anyone done the full AreaP with a reflash. I see a few post on the reflash but not a whole lot of information here.
Thoughts?
I pulled the flies on my 09 and found a noticeable improvement. I just finished installing a full AreaP system with a PCV and K&N filter. I only have about 100 miles with the mods. All I can say is wow! It doesn't pull as hard as my CBR 929 but is more like what I was expecting in the first place. Not that the stock setup is slow! I have notice an improvement starting at about 3k (rpm) on up. Of course this is subjective and only a dyno run will yield objective data.
Regarding the re-flash issue, I went with the PCV for the flexibility it offers. Change components and just change the map. All it takes is a USB cable, computer and 5 minutes. No mailing the ECU. I was concerned about "bricking" the ECU because of a mistake made by the flasher. Also of concern was warranty repairs. If something breaks and Kawasaki quires your re-flashed ECU they may point to the re-flash as the source of the problem and void the warranty repair. With the PCV, just unplug it and you are back to stock.
I am not sure what your overall objectives are (other than increased low/mid torque). I am very pleased with the performance increase and drive-ability with my new set-up.
