Little black rivit thing part number???
« on: March 09, 2012, 11:41:00 AM »
Can anyone give me that part number to those little black plugs that secure the fairing that you have to push in the middle to take out. I didnt know that and broke a few I would like to have them replaced.

You might look in the C14 Wiki area under part numbers.  You'd be amazed at what you would find....

Went by the dealer yesterday and they gave me some different ones that have a philips head on them. A little wider and look much stronger. I did not get a part number. They did not have any of the regular ones in stock.

They measure .225 in diameter making them 5.7mm. Thinking that would make them the 6 mm version seen on line and on ebay.

OOps, my bad. Just like Pope posted, I got the ones from Lowes for like $2 for 4. Then I later found out I also needed the nuts when I was removing the fairing lowers :banghead:

The part # you might be looking for is 92039-0051 but the last time I went to buy one at my dealer, they wanted something like $3 for 1 and they sold a pack of 10 from an aftermarket brand that was only $6. so I went with them, same size and no noticible difference in holding ability. I dont remember the name of the other brand though ..... sorry

Currently I'm using NAPA 665-1316 push rivets.  They have a taller center push knob to tighten them up and it doesn't go all the way in.  So far they hold tight and you haven't something to grab to pull them out.  Might be a bit ticklish to remove if the screen is all the way down but so far I like them.
