A bunch of us should offer them $5,000 something to condition their thought process before you come in with the big offer  ;D

He declined my offer for $9000 but thanked me for my interest.  I sent a reply that asked what he had to get out of it since there are new 2011's that can be had for less than he is asking.  I doubt that this will go my way, but that just means there is a better deal waiting for me to find out about it.

Couldn't hurt to send him a link to said bike for lower than his asking, if you can find one that is. There may not be any listed at the moment.

Okay, I feel both badly and stupidly.  What happened to your other bike.  I did a quick search and see references to a wipe-out, but I can't find a thread with the details.

No details until I get the insurance settled.  Lets just say I had a blast on some great roads down in Arkansas.  If you would like some details I would be happy to communicate through PM's.

I actually did ask you about this via PM but got no reply, no problem though.

Its a protection from a lawsuit.
It avoids saying anything incriminating that could be used against him later by the insurance company or another driver's insurance.

I think he ran over a thought to be extinct rodent the size of a very large deer.  Nat Geo is in the process of signing a lucrative contract for his story ;)

I heard the last words from said rodent and it said "please tell my cousin Kirby that I was run over buy a bike equipped with Kipass, I can die a happy rat."

Even my Nigerian agent would balk at 12,995.  Plus,  sales tax on top of that?  I wonder what he really wants for it?

He isn't willing to drop much, he must really want to have that bike in his showroom for a looooong while.

Ebay is like that. They say they are open to offers, but really they are not. My guess is he may drop it $500.00 but maybe not even that. Realize, they have an audience way bigger than this forum and, at some point, a sucker will buy it.

My advice, dealers are never as desperate to sell as private parties, focus on private party sales if you want a really smokin deal...

I just posted 1 I saw in New Hampshire. 2010 with 13,500 miles for $8999. That's a pretty low price.

Not a cousin of mine anymore than Pongo pygmaeus is a cousin of yours. Rats are cunning but not nearly as clever as squirrels; I have heard  that they do not even know what to do with more than two nuts at a time. Unless you are talking about a 'forest rat' (Odocoileus virginianus), which is a beautiful but stupid animal.... too foolish to be properly wary of KiPass even. KiPass might even fend them off but they are just too big to be moved by nothing more than good radio waves. KiPass isn't magic after all.... well, mostly not magic.

Sorry to hear about your get- off but it sounds like you both came out the other side <fairly> well compared to how these things can go. About all you can do now is move ahead, get another bike and rub your fob for luck.

some have to resort to FOB-rubbing precisely when there's no luck... just saying.  ;D
