Just seen where Fred posted on the other site this info:

The wheels on my '08 are getting closer to black all the time.... at least the front wheel is. It was time for a coat of paint on them about a year ago.

Visited a large dealership out in Colorado on my road trip.

They had a black Concours on the floor.  The tag said it was a 2012 model. 

Said loudly to my buddy with a salesman within earshot:

"I guess this really is a big dealership.  Kawasaki shipped 'em a new Concours before they even released the details on 'em"

I don't know if it was an honest mistake, or if they're tryin to fool.

If they are going to offer two colors, why not make one a little lighter and brighter?  That picture of the "red" looks like tihs spelled backwards.

Look at the passenger grab rails, they are black as well and there may be other blacked out parts!  ;)
Now we're just waiting to find out if there are any other changes to the MY2012.

Local dealer called about an hour ago, said they ordered a Red one and it should be in in 2-3 weeks
looking forward to seeing it in person. They still have a 2011 in Silver. I like the idea of red but also hate the idea of black wheels
I guess a decision will have to be made in 2-3 weeks

We've already had those colors.  What happened, they had some can's left over and added some sparkling bits and thought "Those Americans are a bit dull.  They won't remember they had those colors a few years ago."?  Man, you would think they could come up with something better than that...

Yes, like the Moondust (I think that was a UK color for 2009) !

Dark blue with a few scattered white accents?  While it looks somewhat OK from the front, from the side it looks truly awful!  "this bike saved my life".... interesting that all the likely-to-have-been damaged areas are those that were painted white.
