I think the picture of the "red" connie with the black wheels so many of you have commented on is really the 2010 European "root beer" version.
I will be very surprised if the 2012 U.S. Red version has black wheels and grab bars. However, I've been wrong before, maybe I am again.

The dark red looks like the wine berry color that Honda used on the Gold Wing back in 89, It's a color that shines but the black wheel don't do anything for it,

I like the color, but I have to agree...  the black wheels just don't work on it, if you ask me.

I like the black wheels, I think silver wheels on that bike would look out of place with all the black trim...

You may be right on the outward appearance stuff but if Kwak is on a three year cycle (pun intended) there may be quite a few non-cosmetic fixes/improvements as well.  Like you said it may be a bit and sometime afterward before we know for sure.

Same store is quoting a new 2011 for $12,998 OTD price.

The color isn't bad and I don't have any problem with the black wheels, but why put black grab rails and leave all the other things (handlebars, bazooka, etc) in silver??  :yikes:

Sorry, but that dark red color is really fugly, and to me the bike just doesn't work with the black wheels - in any color.  Just my opinion, but I don't like them enough that it would be one strike against me buying one.  Fortunately, I'm not in the market.
