Painting the C14
« on: May 14, 2011, 10:50:37 AM »
I'm looking for paint ideas as I'm not impressed by the 08 neutron silver.  How hard is it to strip all the plastics off?

Much easier than writing the check to the body shop.

It is easy get off.  It is getting it back on that is the tricky part.
Keep it simple - if no one has shot at me or tried to blow me up it is a good day.

I totally agree with the above comments, easier off than on, costs a bundle, and how boring can you get with the colors provided. If you do it, take photos as you go and notes as to what fasteners go where. Then at re-assembly you'll have notes to add to the confusion!

Lucky for you, its crappy out.  I found a stock photo of a ZRX, so hopefully this is closer:

and dont let the disassembly/re-assembly scare you, just take your time.  you will be fine.

I've always wished that they would use this ZX14 green on the C14! And it looks much better in person!

I would love too see some graphics or paint theme ideas too.  Nothing goofy, just a little subtle, classy touches.

Yup, enjoying this crappy spring as much as I am!  My friends blame me for this weather, I put my snow blower away a week before we had that final 17" snowstorm and its practically rained every day since I bought the concours.

I've always liked Kawasaki's green as well.  It stands out but not in a horribly obscene way.  I've always liked the two/three tone jobs a lot of the sport bikes had in the 90's too.  Suzuki and Honda had some nice three color combinations.

I'm guessing topcase sides.
