2011 OTD pricing
« on: May 13, 2011, 02:13:17 PM »
Another string of posts gone to interweb heaven! Anyway, it looks like I am going whole hog and buying a new Connie once my Wee is sold. The best price that I have gotten so far (Denver area) is $15,000.00 OTD (+ tax). From what I remember, I could do better. Thoughts?

They guys up here in Loveland typicaly beat anybody in Denver.  Probably worth a drive to check.  Ask for Chris, he's the street bike guy.

Thanks for the input. I just called him. He was wondering who recommended him. Reddogger meant nothing to him LOL. I would be happy to give him your name if it would help you out in any way.

Best price so far (the nearest as well) is 14,100.00 OTD + Tax. I do not think I am going to see better than that!

OTD + tax? I don't get it. OTD is OTD and should includes all expenses. If it's an attempt to factor out variables like different tax rates from state to state wouldn't it be OTD + (tax, license fee, registration fee, document prep fee, etc)?

Grizzly Motor Sports in Caldwell Idaho sold mine for $13, 879.00 for the bike. He tells me the actual dealer price on this bike is $13,579.00 and I can live with him making $300 for his trouble. He's also the first to admit (which I already suspected) that freight, set-up, dealer doc...it's all B.S. to add charges to the deal and he doesn't charge it. I wrote the check for 13,879.00 and rode home.

If you'll walk in with $100 bills and lay them on the table, the price will get better the longer you argue. If you have to finance any deal, work with your local bank or credit union beforehand and secure your loan, then take that money with you in cash to the dealership. Dealer financing is one place where stealerships make some dough so eliminate that problem before you go in there.

Keep in mind that the price of bike can vary state to state depending on incentives. I got my '11 From fremont motorsports in Colorado Springs in March for $13,999+ $27 for a temp CO plate. They tried to get me for a $100 doc fee, but I got them to waive that.
I had a bike lined up for the same price at Sun in Denver, but the A holes registered as sold to Kawa as soon as I put a deposit down, meaning by the time I would pick it up, almost one month of warranty would be lost. Plus, I asked them what their cost is for a 3 year warranty (checking their integrity) and they said something like $460.
F them.
One more thing- when shopping for a bike, ask if it is a CA bike or a 49 spec bike. Unless you live in CA, there is no reason to get a CA spec bike as it has the evap system and a different ecm and that is never a plus on any bike.

I got mine for 13,600 +tax, Watched the Ebay dealers prices, printed them out and asked if my local dealer would match..... She made it clear at that price there would be NO trades and NO special financing.... so I guess they were not thrilled.

Yeah, he wouldn't know that name.  If you deal with them tell him Mike the Pilot with the 08 Concours.  I hope they can make it worth your time.
