You can transfer the existing warranty to yourself with Kawasaki free of charge. The only thing they need, other than your name/address/phone/etc. is a copy of the registration in your name. After you send it to them (or email it) they will send you an owner warranty card. When the existing warrant is coming up, they will send you a renewal. But I'd setup a reminder of my own just in case. If the warranty expires you can't purchase a renewal.
I suspect that, as noted, being a Kawasaki dealer that you're buying it from they might be able to take care of it for you.
My explanation of having this dealer complete all of this transfer, is based on the fact they are already logged into the databsae at time of purchse....
Therefore there is no b/s involved with them just doing a couple keystrokes, and completing the transistion, as a.mater of fact, if it is a Kaw dealer, they are actually directed by Kaw to do this... that is why I said to have it done by them, during your purchase, and have confirmation papers in hand before you leave with your bike... hey, you are paying them for a service, they are making a profit on a bike being sold from their door step... its all part of the purchase requisition, and completion of sale... so waiting and trying to do this on your own, is a bunch of horse hockey, and if you mess up, its on you...
Do it the easy way... have them do it for you.. its thier job.
I have never received any "card" for any of the extended GTPP/ or KPP extended warrenties, its all in the kaw database, and can be pulled up by vin at anytime by a service rep.
So don't fret the "card" thang, they don't exist...
Way too much non existant mystery flowing around about this stuff in this thread.. cut to the root, and call Pete, the fellow I gave the link for, for extended KPP and speak with him... they are closed Mondays, but you can reach him the rest of the week...
