Ronnie's Touring Pegs in Silver

Check it out!  I ordered a set of Ronnie's Highway Pegs but asked him to powdercoat them in a silver so as to have them blend in and look like they came with the bike.

Review:  After about 500 miles, half highway, half in-town, I have come to the realization that they are worth every penny but no modification comes without some form of compromise.  On the left side it pushes the footpeg out 3/8" which isn't a problem but on the right side it pushes the peg out 7/8".  This puts my heel against the guard and puts it to sleep which didn't happen prior to installation.  That's it.  Everything else is great.  The installation instructions are professionally done and very easy to follow with color pictures for each step.  Can't ask for more than that.

Just curious, how tall are you and what is your inseam?  Also, where did you get these?

I'm 5'11", 34 inseem.  I got these from Ronnie Agostini.  He doesn't have a website.  All you have to do is email him at: ragsag@mowisp.net and he'll make you a set.  There's a few of us on the forum that have these.  I'll see if he will put up the link to the masses of photos he had for this product before the crash.

*great* pictures (best I have seen so far- good angles, sharp, high-res).  Thank you so much for the info.  I am still considering something like that to help with my somewhat broken body.  I had the thread marked before the crash, so it is great having the info in my face again.  How much was he asking?  What kind of boots do you wear? (Wondering how the pegs are for comfort/compatibility)

Now I wonder what looks better- silver or black!

I would like to know too.  I have been resisting, but ANYTHING to help relieve the stress on my back and give an alternate place to put my feet (to change position) would be very welcome.  I think we lost all the old threads that showed them mounted in black (not sure what would look better).  Could you also explain what you mean by "it pushes the right peg out 7/8"... I am just not seeing that in the picture.  Isn't it just the thickness of the bracket?  It can't possibly be that thick...

I think they look good in silver on a silver bike.  I could not ride long distances w/o these.  I say long distance but I should clarify, more than about 4 hours at a time.  I get a cramp/pain in my right knee from the bend and these all give me the alternate position that I need to relax.  I have Murph's lowering pegs and they are comfortable but did not relieve the pain.  I am 5'7 with a 29-30" inseam.  I usually rest one foot on the highway peg and one on the factory peg, alternating.  I can also rest my calf on them and straighten my leg when needed.  They are costly but a need in my opinion for me.

Thanks for the additional pics and info.  I really can't tell WHICH would look better on a silver bike, actually.  I like the stealth look of the black, except it is too gloss, so it doesn't match the flat black on bottom of the bike.  I would also fear the black scraping off with the metal rings on my boots (would that be a problem on the silver too?  Is it aluminum?  Alum showing through a silver coat might not be that bad)  What do others out there think?

Nobody has provided a link to a "buy" page or contact or anything yet   Maybe that is keeping me safe?

The finish is VERY durable and matched pretty well in my opinion.  There are holes in place that have to be tapped but detailed instructions are provided as well as the tap.  If you remove them nothing will keep you from going back factory.  The holes that need to be tapped are not used from the factory.  I cannot over state how much these are worth to me.  Total install time is less than 2 hours including multiple re-reads of the detailed instructions that include color photos.

I have a set of Ronnie's Highway Pegs on my 2010 C14.  The units are very well made and hook up pretty EZ.  I had the shop do mine, since I had the bike in for other stuff. 

I don't use them all that often, altho ... I need to shift my foot position to relieve some pain in my knees on longer rides.  Unfortunately, I'm mostly riding back roads pretty quickly and need to have my feet on the oem pegs to ship/brake.

However ... if you are on the Slab for some extended period of time, I think they will work very well.  One thing I did notice is ... if you put your feet on Ronnie's pegs, you increase the air flow to your legs/torso/crotch.  This is a good thing since I found this out on a 100+ temp day ride last month.  Just a small advantage IMO.

What size boots do you guys where that have these pegs? I wear a size 12 and wonder if they would get in the way when trying to shift or use the brake.

Hey guys,
Sorry it took so long to respond but i've been away.  I just got back from a 1,500 mile trip to the tail of the dragon from South Easter Michigan.  90% of the miles were on the slab.  Without these pegs, it just wouldn't have happened.  Its great for changing positions and getting some feeling back in the feet.  I have size 13 Icon Tarmac Ventilated (black not the white moon boot version).  I have had absolutely no interference as far as bumping them or hitting the other controls.  Along the journey, I found that not only can you put your feet on them but you can put your feet over them and rest them on the calfs.  This may be a problem on the '08-09's due to heat but absolutely no problems on the '10-11's.  My boots are ventilated so if there were heat problems, i would have found them right away.  I have about 6,000 miles with the pegs and couldn't get around without them.  I only use them on the slab or I would probably try and hit the invisible brake and shifter.

Install requires minimal to moderate handyman knowledge.  Anyone can do this with the instructions provided.  Just make sure you have some WD-40 handy.  These are aluminum and even with extensive usage, I've had no wearing of the powercoating.

A side note:  EVERYONE SHOULD VISIT THE DRAGON AT LEAST ONCE.

I wanted to update to say that I have still be extremely pleased with these "pegs."  Have now had them (the black version) on my gen 2 for more than a year and have had zero problems.  They have been a godsend giving me an option for changing the pressure on my back and knees.  Great idea and superb quality.

I had them on my Gen1, unfortunately they would not work with the MC Canyons.  When I sold the Canyons another set of Ronnies pegs were purchased immediately.  He is a great guy willing to answer questions and patient.  Superb Farkle.
