A fan?
Yep. Unfortunately, most of the high-powered LED systems have active cooling (a fan). LED's do *NOT* like getting hot. It will seriously affect their life. Enclosed fixtures have no real way to cool the chips, so the heatsink pulls the heat out to the back of the fixture, but there isn't necessary any air movement there, so a fan is usually necessary.
And fans will add complexity, power usage, noise, and additional failure points (can clog, can get things caught in them, can break, have bearings, etc). Some of the fans are designed really well, others not so much...
