I am looking for pros and cons on the fuel moto setup on the 14. I'm trying to figure if its worth the price. Thanks

I have the Area P Carbon Slipon and PCV from Fuelmoto. I think the're perfect. Sound is great but not too loud. The CF can has held up very well after 5 years.

But Vance and Hines doesn't make a C14 exhaust, only a muffler, right?

I wouldn't know about the sound that much as I ride with ear plugs. No pc and the flies are still in. I really got it because everyone else was doing something with theirs. Couldn't be left out you know.

I have the Area P CF slip on, no PC and I still have the flies in. The sound is fairly sedate while riding 'normally' (I guess that depends on your definition of normal through) but when I get on it, it sings a very sweet song! It sounds fantastic above 6k!

Bought a used o9 with full area p pc5, autotune, rode bike 1500 miles home in shoei neotec no ear plugs all I heard was wind noise. Now have ear plugs and can hear exhaust and motor but not that loud at all running at 80 to 90 with 2 up. Now I just need someone to teach me how to use pc5 autotune and computer together!!!

I have the full AreaP, PCV and Flies out on my '08. It sounds ok at normal speeds, but definitely will shriek when you twist the throttle up. Sometimes I'd still like to have a way to change the tone. It's not so much the loudness as it is the tone that sometimes annoys me. That's probably just because of all the hearing abuse I've done over the years coming back to haunt me, because most people don't have an issue. One big bonus is the full system does away with the catalytic converter on the stock system which creates most of the heat that folks complain about. I never even notice heat on mine. Over all, I like it and the tone is easily dealt with in my case, by using earplugs.

I love the sound of an Area P, but wanted to be able to baffle occasionally.

I bought a $5.00 baffle on Ebay.
Modified it and installed it in the Muffler.
Cheap and definitely baffles the sound on an Area P.
NOTE: I haven't determined if it cuts down on power. Seems to run fine.
My thought was to install it when I wanted to do long trip.
Remove it for playing..

You do know that aftermarket exhaust systems for a ZX14 will bolt right up (single sided), don't you?

definitely worth every penny, nice bargain, 20+hp and 20+T on mine, the carbon is always cool to the touch, the cooling fan hardly ever comes on too. What is best is the power wheelies and never being embarrassed by 1000 cc sport bikes while walking away from all of them so far

I've had the full exhaust with the carbon fiber can, power commander, flies out since March of '12. It's awesome. I even pulled it off of my '11 and put it on my '13 with only one issue. One of the clamps rusted a little and broke when I removed it. I just got another from area P and used a car one temporarily. In all fairness I'd rather ride than wash my bike and not very gentle with bolts so it's probably just me.

The power increase in the mid range was huge. It gets a little loud above 6k but not enough for me to do anything about it. The PC was plug and play but you have to set the throttle position. No big deal, very easy. I would purchase again in a heart beat knowing what I know now.

I built my own header by cutting up the stocker and a stock zx12 header and welding them up. Retimed the Ex cam, and a pcV. Pretty handily ate a 14 FJR yesterday. Steve

Canned map, and it's the same one that was in the pcv when I got it, with a 3 brothers slip on. I have an autotune, but not installed yet. BTW, the flies are still in, roll ons starting around 3500 rpm and according to the MS rags, the FJR actually shows more torque - a lot more - at that range. not what the real world showed though.
