I didn't remember that you have to join to see anything unlike here.  Two, what does cross post quote mean?  Copy and paste?  And three, I've asked The Wolf for permission to copy his stuff over to here so hopefully I can include it somehow.  What's happening is that the lid to the side case strap broke away from it's mounting on the lid itself.  So check your strap mounts for any kind of crackage.

Model: ZG 1400 CAF
Year: 2011
Colour: Magnesium
Where purchased: Second Hand from Christchurch in Dorset 17th March 2012.
Mileage: 21800 approx (June 2014)
Under warranty: Yes (Extended Warranty)
Problem description: Opened my nearside pannier on 23rd June 2014 and the lid fell open 180 degrees. Plastic retaining lug snapped where strap attaches. Never rest items within the lid and therefore the joints have never been sprained, its presumably just fatigued and become brittle.
Dealer response: Photos taken by me, taking the bike to dealer, Autorama at Batley later today for inspection, hopefully it will be honoured. Just needs a new lid not the entire pannier.
Dealer name: Autorama at Batley.
Cost of repair: Nil, successful warranty claim.
Other notes: Excellent service, while I was actually at the dealer, Brian called Kawasaki, explained the problem and the claim was authorised.

Ah yes, that's what I thought but before I was going to do that I was going to ask his permission.  Assuming he gives it, we'll leave it.

Opps, sorry. Doesn't mention any name (other than dealer) so I thought it would be ok. But yes I did use his pictures.

Permission granted.  It's kinda strange but I have a problem copying something from someone I know vs someone I don't...but that can be a discussion in Open if anyone wants to have it.

Crackage (word of the day?)  :rotflmao: Thanks for the heads up. I'll check.

Crackage

Women's Butt Crack Cleavage = CRACKAGE. When NO THONG IS PRESENT (no whale tail), only butt crack. CRACKAGE.

"Wow check out that girls crackage, she didn't wear panties today, what a naughty girl."

"So this girl reached for the shoe box, and WOW, her Crackage was Everywhere!"

"I couldn't help but notice your crackage, can I take you out sometime?"

"Nice crackage, you're making me aroused, in the middle of the food court."

Some forums are private, no big whoop.

Yeah, I guess it was my strange attempt at "copy-paste".  Sorry :)  I was thinking cross-copy or similar but it came out as something totally new and different!

If that happens to my side case (I'm not under warranty) I will cut the broken tab off clean, shape a piece of aluminum (1.5" square or so) to the inside of the case with a tab sticking out and glue with gorilla glue. Then use a pop rivet like original. Would probably be stronger then the original tab.
