I moved into my parents '71 built house last year after my dad passed away. This house has all of the colors going on. I just recently took the master bath down to studs and rebuilt it. The sink, toilet, and 1" square tiled shower was POWDER BLUE original. The main hall bath I stripped the '80s wallpaper and then painted it Country white and put a new vanity with modern faucet until I can pull the tub and tile, toilet, and floor to get rid of the HARVEST GOLD color.
The only thing left of the kitchen is the AVACADO GREEN stove. It works a looks great. I think I will send the green surfaces out and have them coated black until we can afford to get rid of the green-flecked '80s counter tops.
Ironically, the downstairs bath was down in white when the house was built. Still looks great and functions. Maybe its time to replace the faucet (some corrosion pitting). I've reseated the valves quite a few times.
By the way, if you have the old colored porclain fixtures, sell them, there seems to be a pretty good craigslist market for them.
