I'll soon be needing tires too.
I see Ghost Rider has the Continental Road Attack 2's.
I've been looking at their advertising and like what they say, but I know it's advertising.
Like BDF, I like the looks of the tread. Which is what first attracted my attention.
Yea, I know, different isn't always good...

Has anyone (other then Ghost Rider) used them?
His reports all sound very positive.
Ghost Rider, any more updates?

Ride safe, Ted

A freind on a BMW r1100s in death valley. Heat and speed adding to the heat ate them up. He had no clue the Pirelli was done.

I rode my Goldwing today and it rained.  Headed home and I thought I had a rear tire going down the bike was so loose.  Have not rode 1800 in rain for month or so. Concours is a way better handling bike in the rain.  I still clicking away the Road Attack tires.   One thing for sure  is front going to out wear the rear.  They have the name branded into tread on tire.  Rear is gone front looks like it was installed yesterday. No burn outs or spinning tire on launch.

Reporting back on the Road Attack 2.  Tires will be a little pricey to run.  I have 3,000 on them and the rear is showing wear. Lots of it.  Front still looks great.  Have had 40 to 41 pounds in tire since new.  Illinois flat roads not helping but it getting a flat pattern on center of tread. I will say tire will be off by 5,000 miles. I use this bike to commute To work. 35 one way everyday. Was hoping to see something closer to 8 to 10 thousand per set.  These tire feel good and have grip.  But little to soft for everyday riding for me.

But aren't they way cheaper than Michelins?  I buy PR2's.  I rode home from St Louis to Peoria at 80 mph in the rain on newish PR2's on my Speed Triple.  Felt like I was riding in the dry.

I know this is an old thread (at least I did not resurrect it)...

What about those of us more interested in the Sport part of Sport Touring?  I've been kicking around either Angel GT's or PR4's.  The bike has BT023's on it which I'm not at all happy with.

Bike is typically not all that loaded up, rarely 2 up, not hugely worried about mileage but I don't want to burn up tires like I do Q3's on my sport bike at less than 2k.  Will most likely go with a 55 for quicker turn in.

Not limited to Angels or PRs - Suggestions?

Welcome!

I know this is an old thread (at least I did not resurrect it)...

Nothing wrong with resurrecting/continuing a good and relevant thread rather than having 1,000 of the same thread!

Well...I'm loving my latest set. Shinko Verge 011s. Got 4,000 miles so far, and no sign of wear yet. Less cost for the pair than for a rear PR4. I got the 200 series rear, and really, really like it. Unless something surprises me, I'll replace them with another like set when these need replacing. I've run Shinkos on my dual sport for years, and have always liked them...especially the price.

+1, little more money but with the extra mileage you get it pays off. Their grip stayed good past their ware bars with no centre snip left.

So far, I am very happy with the PR4GT.  Tire rain performance is really amazing, too.

I added the word "tire" in front now.... I don't want to give any credit to the rain having good performance, especially not lately with the weather we have been having...

Whaaat? 200/50ZR17?  It fits?

I like Shinkos too, running a rear Verge 016 now but a 190/50. What I dislike about the Verge, at least the 16, is the lack of tread grooves in the center where my tires always wear out first. With no grooves and no wear bars it is impossible to judge how much tire is left.

Back to original subject, my favorite front for the C14 is the Bridgestone T30.

In the PR4 / Angel - Would the GT variant be the correct choice?  Mostly just me on the bike without much luggage.  I have a bit of a hard time thinking of this bike as a "heavy" tourer.
