It controls the oil.  Everyone knows that.

I'll guess it controls the VVT on our bikes- looks like Kawasaki didn't convert that fuse holder nomenclature from Japanese to English very accurately.

Now I wonder what the "smart" and "answer back" fuses are really for? Probably a secret circuit for Big Brother to tap into like our cell phones.

I had to find out too. Read this on the VVT

I snapped a pic of fusebox 3 on my bike. Here's what the electrical schematic list these fuses as.

1, KIPASS Signal relay fuse  10A
2, Oxygen sensor heater fuse  15A
3, KIPASS fuse  10A
4, Electric windshield fuse  30A
5, Accessory fuse  10A

Ok mystery solved.

I found the O2 sensor on my bike.

I found the O2 wire on the fuse box and started pulling on it.

If you keep tugging on it, it will work lose.  At the end was the O2 sensor.  It's apparently just taped up inside the harness not being used.

Where is it supposed to be installed on the exhaust system? I wonder if all the bikes are like this?

That seems a bit strange.   This is a US bike?  And yes, where did you find it?  I'm thinking at least one of us (US) would have said something before now on finding this in the bike disconnected.  Maybe we'll find a cruise control buried somewhere as well if we look hard enough.

Those sensors aren't cheap.  I wonder if this bike was slated to go somewhere else in the world and made a right turn at the US?

The O2 sensor I put on my bike is big enough I think it would resist being tugged and pulled on in the very limited space under the seat. It's the size of a spark plug. It would also have a rather large connector on the end. It would not be connected by a single wire to the fuse box.

I suspect you found an O2 sensor *connector* not an actual sensor.  The sensors are too big and expensive to just leave one taped up in the harness.

All the wiring seems to be there for an O2 sensor/closed loop system. I wonder if a sensor could be installed and if Guhl could activate the ECU to use it.

IIRC ..... Guhl already has maps and has done reflashes for some of the over sea C14s which have O2 sensors. So anyone who's seriously consittering adding an O2 sensor should contact Guhl and verify this for us.

2012 ECU...UK part#= 21175,21175 A-D
                Can       = 21175C
                US         = 21175B
With 5 different part #'s it's a little confusing.
