When changing a blown fuse, I came across a 15 amp fuse labeled "O2 sensor". Me thinks this very curious as I have been told no open or closed loop O2 sensors were installed on the American delivery bikes.
Keep in mind that the Concours is available world-wide. And in some markets, it does have an O2 sensor (because it is required there, for emissions control).
I have wondered why most of our bikes didn't get o2 sensors. It seems logical to think that with an o2 sensor the bike would be more fuel efficient vs running strictly speed density with no feedback to afr's.
The reason is probably cost. O2 sensors are (or used to be) expensive... in the $50 range. Now, to me that seems like a crazy low price to omit something on a high-end bike (kinda like cruise control, although that would cost even more).
With an O2 sensor, it would, indeed, have even better emissions and tuning control. Might even get a tad bit better fuel economy.
