I was working on installing a Rostra cruise on my C14 today and the nice FedEx man came with an Angel GT front tire-Problem is I never got around to buying the rear tire!

Anybody else in the same boat?

Hey! That must be mine!!!    ;)

The only thing better than a new tire waiting out front, is a free new tire!

Thank you Pirelli.

  • It's only really cold if you fall down in it.
    • C-14 farkles you almost cannot ride without.
Me too- no warning or communication, just a tire that showed up yesterday (Friday, 4th). I think I was #23 on the list.

Nice job Pirelli and thanks!

I am looking forward to putting these sneakers on the bike but as there is a heat wave going by it won't be in the next few days.

I think I may also try the 'wrap the tire and push it onto the rim' trick; a bunch of nylon lifting straps are pretty inexpensive, and I might even try the hook 'n loop types. It almost looks like a parlor trick but it also looks very easy to try.

A crude version:  How to change a motorcycle tire - the alternative method

I have seen videos of it being done using nylon webbing straps and it is pretty slick. We all know the first bead is the 'freebie' and will go on with no tools quite easily. This is because the bead is pushed open by the wheel and it pops over the lip of the wheel. The other side does the opposite as it is pushed against the tire- it gets smaller. But strapping the two beads of the tire together keep the diameter of the combined beads large enough to be able to force the tire onto / off of the wheel by hand without tools.

Well, straps and of course KiPass.....  I have heard that if you have enough fobs the tires will install themselves on the bike while you sleep at night but cannot say one way or the other if that really works. Kirby thinks so though.  :-\

Excellant! A successful "Hold my beer and watch this" event. I am duly impressed. I think I'll spend the twenty and let someone else do it.  :)

But don't let Cletus' execution throw you from the goal- the tires really can be mounted / demounted pretty easily without a lot of straining and cranking on the brake rotor. Really the times I've seen it it was so slick I thought I missed something or it was a trick rim or something.

I am going to give it a crack by using those hook and loop straps that have no buckle. I have been told by a gentleman who I have confidence in that 5 are enough but I will probably use more to start with.

my front arrived, no email or anything. just on the door step.

the rear i installed a few days ago, feels very good, 450 miles through the twisties, hard, felt very stable and predictable.  (front is still a 023, worked well together)
