Any Rosta's mounted on the left side?

Curious if anyone that has installed a Rosta CC has mounted it on the left handlebar? Everything I have seen shows them on the right, which would work I suppose, but I think I would prefer it on the left.

I mounted my control pad on the left with a bracket that I made.

Mine is also on the left with homemade bracket. Right side didn't make sense to me.

I mounted the control switch on the left.



I used Murph's aluminum bracket which is designed for the right side. I filed off the screw boss on the backside so I could attach it to my homemade bracket on the left. I've seen it mounted low on the left as well but I think my tank bag would have a problem with that. Mounted on top is more exposed to rain but easier to cover with a baggie and a rubber band. Murph's  switch covers are ugly but  cheap (3 for $10.25), even if you don't want it on your bike all the time I advise you keep one handy in the glovebox. My baggie was never there when I needed it. I think my glovebox was eating  them.

I first mounted it low. It was harder to operate with gloves on since with heavy gloves you cannot feel it and have to look. Up left like this turned out to be the best for me.

All the bikes I have seen with factory cruise control have the controls on the right side.  All the bikes I have owned with factory cruise control have the controls on the right side.

For some reason it just doesn't seem logical to me to have it on the right side.  But I have never thought about it all THAT much.

One thing that really makes me curious- what do you do with your right hand when cruise in engaged?  In a car, you take your foot off the pedal.  I don't know if I would always want my hand off the bar on a bike with cruise engaged.  But if you grab the grip, won't that interfere with the cruise?  Could it even cause damage?   That is a situation where electronic throttle control really is a great advantage, no?

Yeah, that was contrary to my experience with cruise on my past bikes as well. All were on the left, which is my preference for mounting the control on my c14

I have played a bit with mine. I can force the throttle down and it doesn't take a lot of force to overcome the servo. Opening the throttle is no different than when the cruise is off. Normal grip with cruise on doesn't really affect it. Your hand will move with it fairly naturally. My main reason for cruise is so that I can give my throttle hand a break for a few minutes.

I've always had the cruise control key pad on the left.  It's easier to hold the throttle open with the right hand and set the cruise with the left for me.

When I have the cruise on,  my right hand is usually resting on the bar end.

The actuator is fine with it if the rubber dip switch cover is in place. The control switch on the other
hand was designed to be inside an automobile, so I assume that it isn't very water proof.
Mine has been exposed to heavy rain twice without a baggie, and it still works.

On the new thottle by wire bikes, you just rest your hand on the throttle as always.  it doesn't move under your hand.

On the old school bikes, as long as you are not using the cruise in the mountains, the throttle doesn't move more than a 1/4 inch or so and is barely perceptible.  I am always just resting my hands on the bars anyway.  I only grip the bars when it is cold and I have the heat on.

For me, on the right makes sense because that is where you control the speed of the bike.  You bump up or down the speed, hit resume, etc.  Of course the factory buttons are below the throttle so you can hit them with your thumb while holding the throttle steady.

Mine has been fine for 2 years. I got the control switch from Murph's and it's supposed to be water proof. My actuator is tucked up under the right upper faring. It can certainly get wet up there but is protected from much of the rain. Like someone else said be sure to replace the rubber seal on the dip switches on the actuator unit.

The '13 Yamaha FJR cruise control switches on are the left.. that's why I bought one...well that and a few other things like time for a new bike.

BMW RT,GT. Obviously either side can work, and according to the owner one side may seem more intuitive than the other.
