Quite...  And I agree with Maxdog.  I'm always keeping an eye on it because no matter what speed I set my mind to, the bike, she wants to go faster, which is ok in my book.  It does have a warp factor if you get the rpms high enough in the lower gears.  On any number of occasions when switching from impulse to warp, I find myself going backwards as the bike is going forwards....  It may not be greased lightening coming off the line but it does extremely well for my type of riding which is predominately VA 2 lanes and twisties.  It does well on the Interstates as I've gone across country (Here to Reno and back).  For the price and the availability of farkles it is hard to beat.

Well, you guys certainly have more experience with sport-type bikes than I do. I often find myself exceeding the local speed limits very easily aboard the C14, and I don't really mean to. The Connie is relaxed at speed, especially compared to the Harleys I'm used to.
I'm still breaking my bike in, so I haven't really explored the upper end of the tach. It seems more than enough for me the way it is. Everything about the Connie just screams performance to me, so I'm taking it a little at a time.

Again, thanks for the welcome, and I'm working on those pics. I've learned a lot from you guys and this site so far.

Oh lord, the bike isn't even "alive" until it is over 4000RPM.  You are in for a big surprise later :)

It is not a bad thing to take it easy and get comfortable with the bike.

The Concours does pretty well out here, especially during off-hours and on weekends when the traffic doesn't suck.  However, it will exceed every speed limit on the island in 1st gear.  If you see me running around, definitely say hi.   I'm the only one I've seen with the Givi E52 with light kit on the island.  Welcome!

You don't need the Arena for questionable humor and low brow entertainment.  You can get that here.

Fixxer, I love Hawaii. Been there on vacation 14 times starting in 1981. I've rented bikes on Maui and Kauai. But I just looked and Oahu is less then 60 miles by road tip to tip. A c14 on that island seems like a thoroughbred living in a stall.

That said, it was 10 F this morning with 8" of snow on the ground. Had to plow out a 3' drift just so my wife could go to town. Right now, I'm jealous of your riding environment.  8)

Living on an island has some disadvantages, especially for those who lie to ride for hours on end.
However, as you just mentioned, we ride pretty much year 'round here.

We used to fly over to the Big Island for vacation... seemed silly at the time.  8)  I'm tired of the snow right about now... could use some shave ice, a manapua or two, and some tasty waves.   8)
