Rear drive oil

Has anyone used any Amsoil 75w-90 long life synthetic gear oil in the rear drive unit on a C10, as I have a qt of it left over from my VTX1800C in which it worked great for nearly 70k, and It should work just as well for rear drive oil on the C10 I'm resurecting.

Should be just fine. I've used 75w-90 in synthetic and semi-synthetic with no issues. I just rolled over 75,000 miles.   :popcorn:

Thanks, and I figured it would be ok, as rear drive units are pretty much all the same.  ;)

I didn't check the specs but just make sure if it calls for GL4 that you use GL4 rated oil.  I think the Connie is GL5.

The Amsoil synthetic gear lube I have is rated GL5, but can also be used in any gear application where a GL4 gear oil is specified.  ;)

Connie likes GL5. Page 88 in the owners manual. ;)

Gl5 is backwards comptible. It exceeds the requirements of GL4.

I too have the same Amsoil oil, also left over from my VTX 1800C.  :)

I add guard dog moly to mine.  I know it's probably overkill....
