Sounds like a good deal indeed at that price, but he's high if he thinks average resale is $10.5 for that bike...

Agreed...

$6950 sounds like a good price...the NADA price I get is $8730 and that is the dealer selling price not the price of a private sale

For what it's worth (not much), I get a different number on NADA ($9760).  I'm not used to using NADA, I do use KBB for cars occasionally.  One mistake is adding "options" that are actually standard.  The way KBB works, if something is standard you don't add it as an option.   Their templates are somewhat generic so they show a bunch of stuff as options for all vehicles even though they may be standard equipment.

http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2008/Kawasaki/ZG1400A8F-CONCOURS-14ABS-1352cc/Standard-Equipment

No doubt that their numbers make no sense though.  I looked up my Goldwing the other day.  It shows my 2009 Goldwing average retail as over $22,000.  Hell, you can buy a brand new one for pretty close to that - a three year old bike certainly isn't worth that.

Kinda in the same boat...a 2008 with heated Corbin Seat with Backrest, Two Brothers Exhaust, PCIII, Windscreen, 30K miles with a year and a half left on a factory warranty....$8200. Good luck!

Price sounds good for what you are getting. Find out if the previous owner was a poster on this site if you can--and then read all his posts to see any issues he had. And look for any scratches and damage from dropping the bike, these fall over easily and many are busted up; they can actually be TOTALLED by letting them fall over on the side. Reduce value by price of plastic damaged. And look closely at the nuts and bolts, if you see ANY rust from parking outdoors,  or deformation from hamfisting, that's a deduction.

19k miles vs 1400 miles, not really a good comparison IMO...

Actually I'd rather have one with 35K to 50K on it but well farkled.  But this one is in my neighborhood so I don't have to go  on a fly/ride trip.l

Wow that is one helluva old new leftover 08. :o  I would say $7500 tops, if the guy really wants to sell it he will probably agree to that.

One problem is 7.5K turns into 6.75K when it's on consignment and it is.

I may offer 7.5K and see what happens.

True and good point, he didn't mention the asking price of the 1400 mile one. $8800.

At 19k miles it is definatley not worn out, far from it, but I'd pay an extra grand for a bike with only 1400 miles on it vs 19k miles, but I am crazy...  :)

$8,800

Keep talking.  Also where is that one in Denver.  I'd look at it too.  I can ride back for Denver in one day.

I always go for lower miles on bikes or cars when buying, it's the one thing you can't undo (legally at least)...  :-\

Happy hunting CK, I hope you get it bro!  :chugbeer:

Not to worry.  It would be a bit slower and heaver than the ZX 1100 I had several years ago.

And remember my frist ride!

It was, and still is the fastest thing on this planet!
