JDM,
I thought someone would have given you a little feedback by now. I'll tell you what little I know. I did install one of Norm Soucys lowering links last year after putting on a C14 rear shock and needing to lower the rear of the bike afterwards. I think mine was a 1 1/2" drop but I can't recall how that corresponds with the way Norm marked his links. You can probably email or call him for the info if nobody else chimes in. Phone # was 281-339-1156 and email was Sanleonster@gmail.com.
Installation should be pretty straightforward. Remove the stock linkage, remove the dust seals and needle bearings and install them in the new lowering link and then install the new link. You can knock the needle bearings out of and into the links using a socket and hammer. It might take a few whacks but they'll eventually come out.
You may have issues with your sidestand being too long and thus it keeping the bike too upright if your new link causes a big drop but maybe not. Your centerstand may be really difficult to use also if your bike drops a lot in the rear due to adding the lowering link. Some people have also dropped the front of their bikes a little by raising the forks above the triple clamps to keep the bike close to level after dropping the rear with a lowering link.
Hope this helps a little. Hopefully someone will clarify anything that I've misstated here.
