Rear Brake Pad Replacement
« on: October 17, 2011, 10:33:25 AM »
In my old age two things happen: Either I can't figure out the obvious, or I've learned to ask for help when stumped. So here is my plea for assistance on what seems to be such an easy matter.

Trying to replace the rear pads on my '03. Pulled the two bolts to remove the calper assembly. The piston side pad comes right out, but my dilema is the other pad. How do I get it to clear the two caliper holder shafts? Pushing, clamping, cussing & prying all don't give me enough clearance to get the pad off the pins.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Wow, you guys are GOOD!

Took another look at it since the original post and noticed a little tab on the vibration spring where the pad hits. Pressing in this tab releases the rest of pad allowing removal.

Tried to take a picture of it but the camera's battery must be dead.

Thanks again!
