How would you Respond to this ?

I had to swing by CVS and drop off some scripts. I roll in front of the entrance, then swing accross the other lane into a parking spot right on the end. I get off the bike and start to remove my hemet, glasses first, and I hear :
"Only Pussies wear gear".
I spin around, don't see anyone, no cars rolling, and no one near sitting in a car. I look for a few seconds, and I see this sawed off little s**t peaking around the  pillar in front of the store. I finsh my glasses and helmet removal and start to walk his way.
 He then noticed my 6'3" 250 lbs, bald mellon and go-t stash, and as my wife says, my Stormtrooper look, and makes a quick exit into the grocery store nextdoor.
I didn't follow him, I had better things to do then educate an idiot.
But I was just wondering what the masses would do or say to something like this.
Anyway, ride safe all, and ATGATT, no matter what anyone says.

"Oh no! The miniature asshole thinks I'm a pussy! Whatever shall I do?

probably the right thing to do is ignore them, but it is not very satisfying.
Confrontation and the jerk might lurk around and damage your bike or house.

This might work. "Tell that to a football player or the Marines."  or "Thanks for identifying yourself I like to know who the trouble makers are in the neighbohood." or "That might be true if you got nothing to protect"
I did not come up with anything right away though.

The punk is a jerk and an idiot, you have no obligation to educate him. He might end up being a statistic that others will learn from.

This might help you. I was riding my bicycle on the sidewalk, when somebody in a pickup truck went by and barked like a dog to scare me. They had to stop at a light about a block ahead. I caught up with them,  went to their passengr window and barked agressively then rode off. They yelled at me as they were driving off. They got the last word and I decided that was a stupid thing to do. It is hard to imagine how confronting idiots can end well.

I'd of just laughed my a-ss off.  Boldest chickenshit runt always ready to demean those who are worthy of riding a bike, he's not worth your time.  Make sure he sees you laughing at him, as you tighten up your chin strap and cinch up your gloves.

I have to admit, there was some laughing done on my part, but I can't remember if it was from the comment he made, or by how fast he ran into the grocery store. I do remember seeing him have to slow just a bit for the automatic door to open enough for him to get in.
I would have rolled on the ground if he would have face planted that door though.
I wasn't mad about it, but curiosity has crept in, and if nothing else, I would like to ask him "Why" would he say something like that to a complete stranger. But I bet the "Inbredding" might come out with his answer.
