I have found my perfect gas can......
« on: August 05, 2011, 12:36:48 AM »
The guys on an off-road forum put me on these when I mentioned I go places with long distances between gas stations. Rotopax sells a tiny one gallon can that rocks, and has been tried and tested true not to leak under the most extreme ADV bikes and Jeep conditions. Some even have them mounted upside down.

On long trips I always set a bag on my bag seat. Next long trip i might set one of these "1 gallon" tanks under the bag.

This is how small it is on a 250 enduro

For those without a top box trunk there's a mount to put it on our rear rack:

Here it is on a small rear rack:

I placed order for this: http://www.rotopax.com/1-Gallon-Gasoline-Pack-Mount.html

I ordered the can and the mount, but not an L bracket. I'll fab up my own bracket, but that black mount is TRICK.

On the C14 it'll ride on the back seat under my soft luggage.

I'll have it mounted to the back of this bike, pics to follow when its done!

These are quality cans!  I took the 2.5 gallon to Alaska!  It sat in the same place on my back seat.  I considered the 1 gallon, but was afraid that I might get in a jam, and 1 gallon wouldn't get the big pig very far!  I didn't use a mount, just laid it on the back seat.  It was under my camping gear, and lashed in place with my soft ties.

Nice pic, except that bike is way too clean. It must be photoshopped.  :stirpot:

Thanks for the heads up, I can't wait to get it  ;D

I must be getting better with a camera/tripod, that bike is a 2002 beater model and it shows it if you were looking at it in person
