I used balance beads after I had my wheels chromed and they work fine!  I'm no tire expert but I have taken the bike to warp speed with no problems.  I will never go back to wheel weights.  Thats my two cents, not looking for any trouble.

Nothing wrong with adding another data point.
But the issue is that you/we don't know how the bike would be with no weights AND no beads.  Maybe they are doing something, maybe they aren't...

Has anyone used Dyna beads. I used them in my last bike without weights and it was as smooth as glass. Really work. Any thoughts?? Doug

Well, Mr. Poopster, what year C14....2009?

But to cut to the chase, some say they work, some say it's snake oil, and some are on the fence.  That about sums it up.  Next question?

Put your popcorn away, Max..... ;)

Ya 2009. And the beads do work very well. With plugs in the tire I don't know.

What I would like to see is someone ride the bike without the beads, report back.  Then add the beads and see what happens, report back.  Then chuck the beads and get it balanced professionally, report back.

The beads rate right up there with Scamsoil.

How's this:

New PR2 on front wheel with weights.   Took it for a ride and 88mph was fine, but as soon as I hit 90 serious vibration.  Took the wheel of and repositioned the weights and it ran fine at triple digits.  Next PR2 on the same front wheel, I used dynabeads and it's fine up to 130mph.

Still doesn't prove anything, since the tire needs balancing just as much if not more than the wheel.  You didn't run the last tire with no weights first (at least, according to your story).

Actually Max, it did prove something. That the first balance attempt with weights wasn't done correctly...
