Damn you cell phone companies!!!! You have single handily created a society that no longer knows how to function in public. Your unlimited data plans and or relatively inexpensive data plans have created a public menace to society. Men and "especially women", can no longer function without being able to get on Facebook, tweet, text upon text upon text, watch videos, spread instant rumors and lies, surf porn, and have unlimited airtime to talk to everybody and anybody because they are simply bored. I have a Droid smartphone, I look at it as a tool however. I need a good phone for my job, and also being that I have no land line in the house. I hate talking on the phone, and I am very limited to even how much I use it for other purposes as well. Sure I text a bit when it is appropriate, and I may even use some other features of my smartphone to help me get around or find a great place to eat. The camera is amazing, so practically no need for a separate camera for my needs. But what I see when I go to "lets say" the supermarket, is folks playing with their phones when they are walking into the store, while they are in the store, while in line to checkout, and all the way to their car........and while driving!!!!!!! I remember when having a cell phone was an expensive privilege and not a right, are they honestly that important? I got along just fine growing up without one, and many times I wish for how things used to be. We are all rude and inconsiderate to those around us, and everything is about "me" and **** on you for thinking otherwise. This is an all about me society now, and I only see it getting worse as technology advances. Use to be a time when things were done face to face, now everything is done via the internet and by smartphone. Is this how we are aspiring to be, are we as parents setting a good example to our kids and their friends? Some times I pray for technology to fail, maybe then we could somehow figure out how to pull together as a society and get through the adversity? I loved growing up when I did, life was so much simpler and genuine then. So In closing, I hope that the cell companies will soon start charging a pretty penny for their services, maybe then we will have a chance of actually getting to know and respect eachother.
