They also sent this to Rocketmoto, a dealer of Sena about the SM10:

We received this communication from Sena last night:

"To all Valued Partners:

The availability of the SPH10H and SM10 have been delayed until further notice. Sena engineering is still working out the kinks and do not have any delivery date set at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your customers. As soon as we receive a firm ship date from the factory, we will notify you immediately. Again, sorry for all the inconvenience. "

Their site makes no mention of a recall on the firmware update and appears to try to update the SMH10....but it doesn't get very far in the process.

I just updated both of my units....no problems whatsoever.  I've got a W7 64bit pc.  Make sure you download the latest installer.

This is very aggravating. I have successfully downloaded the installer, but I cannot get the firmware update (4.1) to complete the download onto my Mac. It gets halfway through and then stalls out. Tried various ways, numerous times, no joy. It must be a computer issue, but I can't imagine what it might be. Anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't tried the 4.1 yet, but I've had that same problem with every previous upgrade.  I tried multiple times from multiple computers.  The download would get to 61% each time and then HANG.  I put a request in to Sena tech support and was contacted by Dan Kim, Customer Support Tech.  We tried EVERYTHING.  He ended up just sending me the update as an e-mail attachment.  The 4.0 upgrade is working so well for me that I am reluctant to mess with it.

I've been considering replacing my Autocomm unit(s) with the SMH10, but the release of the SM10 has me wondering.  I thought that the SMH10 would link the direcitions and music of my Zumo 550 to both the rider and passenger headsets.  Is that incorrect?  It now appears that I would need to get an SM10 as well for both of us to be able to listen to the Zumo at the same time.  If I'm reading the manuals correctly, I'd also need the SM10 for the radar detector to work properly.

I suppose it's not that critical, as I don't have a passenger that often, and the bike-to-bike capabilities of the SMH10 still interest me.

For those that are having difficulty updating their SMH10 when using a Mac.

1. Download and install the new Sena Bluetooth Device Manager. v. 1.4

2. Using the Finder - Click on Applications and then Right click the application Sena Bluetooth Device Manager.

3. Select Get Info.

4. Unlock by clicking on the lock on the bottom right corner and entering your administrator username and password.

5. Change the Privilege under Sharing & Permissions to Read & Write for all users.

6. Click on the lock again.

7. Now follow the instructions using the Sena Bluetooth Device Manager.

I hope this helps...it worked for me.

If you want both rider and passenger to listen to the same music, etc. then wait for the SM10.

No clue on radar detector use.....we don't own any.

Evidently there is no installer for a PC running Vista. Anyone try one of the others on their Vista system?

I did the upgrade and the sound still sucks. I'd like to go back to how it was before doing two upgrades that made things worse not better.......

I guess I ride to fast to notice the difference...  It all sounds the same to me...  Little music with allot of wind noise :)
