New to forum. Upgraded from Versys to C14
« on: June 24, 2012, 08:13:14 PM »
I purchased a 2010 Connie with 7800 miles, Gipro, heli risers.  I had a 2011 Versys.  It just didn't have enough power for me.  I rode 800 miles over the weekend.  Common issues TPMS reads 5 lbs low.  Speedo is 5 miles faster than GPS.  Numbness in hands.  The ride was very enjoyable.  Enjoyed having the power to keep up with traffic with out heavy vibration common in Versys.  ThrottleMiester performed as promised.  I could see where a rostra cruise control would be a help.

I did notice the tires tracked the rain grooves on the Oklahoma highways.

Appears it is common as you put more pressure on your wrist due to the more aggressive riding position. Couple 2" risers did the trick for me - toned it down a bit, but not all of it. For some folks though, the aggressive position is a god send because it relieves the lower back. Once my body got used to the new pressure points, it was very comfortable for me. So, just need to get used to it.

Those skinny handlebars also beg fore pressure points to pop up.  Throw some bigger grips on there and you'll notice a lot different feel.

I had the skinny grips on the Versys.  I put on grip puppies.  What grips would you suggest.

Welcome. How does the seat appeal to you?  I too have numbness in my right hand starting at approx. the 25 mile mark. Going to get some risers but still looking at all the options out there. Are you running stock tires?

Welcome to the darkside, unless you got one of them slower color bikes. I am still getting used to the position of my hands on the C14 after four months, but it rains alot here in the PNW so days of riding have been limited.

I adjusted my ride style to over come the hand numbness.  I was always a straight armed rider and that just did not work on the c14. took about a month to break myself from it, even put notes to myself on the bike when I got off it.  "bend your arms"   8)
this and a cramp buster did the trick for me!

I borrowed a Corbin saddle.  I thought is was going to be a little hard but it was a vast improvement over the stock saddle.

Welcome!  I had hand issues wiht my 08. Better grips helped, but the problem was not entirely cured until I added Phils Wedges.  http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=466

I went a few months without ordering them as 68.00 sounded expensive.  After using them it turned out to be the best comfort mod I made to my bike.

Welcome to the zoo. Looks like you already have bar risers on there but I highly recomend the advanced sport touring risers. It pulls the bars up and back towards and also puts them farther apart. Very big improvement for me.
No, really, she is the best and I can prove it...

Connie has been sold. Replaced with 2013 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC
