Really depends how dusty the conditions are that you ride in. I would leave it for 20,000 KMS.

I think it says to clean it once a year or 25k....  Cleaning instructions should be on the box.

Throw the K&N filter away and install the box, it would more than likely work better.

Ignore Pokey. He hates everything/everybody unless they agree with him, which is so rare that you can time it by lunar eclipses.

K&Ns are excellent, properly treated. 25K is good and the dealer will sell a "recharging kit" which includes cleaner and filter oil. These are used off-road in ultra-dusty situations and while the alleged performance boost is negligible, I prefer a filter that doesn't have to be thrown away regularly.

Not true at all, you obviously only see me as one way. My sarcasm must fly over your head allot, lighten up and get a sense of humor. So I am the only one that thinks that K&N are overrated and don't work/perform as advertised? Yeah right....... ::)

13k on my OEM filter when I checked it, still looked fantastic and was very easy to clean out what little bit that was actually in it. So no wasted paper for me my friend. My SugarMama makes good money, so I will continue to buy the OEM furnace filter. 8) Have read comparisons on OEM's versus K&N, and seems the OEM is superior in overall filtering.....but I can see the reasons why many like the K&N.

WELL . . . your sense of humor obviously doesn't like to be tweaked at and you missed the sarcasm icon. Sorry. But you gotta admit, your posts are more contra than pro on many topics.

And NO, as a racer, I do not find K&N overrated. And I back that up by actually using them in truck, bikes, etc.

I'm with Pokey. OEM all the way.  Mine gets changed every 25,000 miles during the valve lash check. It appears to need changing but it performed as well at 25K regarding acceleration and fuel mileage as it did at zero.

0 miles on my OEM:

>25,000 miles on my OEM:

As long as I have a fresh battery in my KIPASS, i doubt the OEM air filter will ever really need "changing"
