Summer is here, wind deflectors off, short screen on....
« on: May 29, 2012, 02:40:02 AM »
Hot here in Va finally.  Left my air deflectors on last year (group purchase, forgot the brand).  Took them off this year and hit them up with some masonry sealer to black them out.  I will source black hardware from a local hardware store.  Will post pics of blacked out steel mounts later.  Turned out REALLY good.

Mine are off too. I need to get some black hardware for mine as well. The spray paint that I used didn't hold up.

I took my deflectors and tall shield off back in March when we hit 90.  They haven't been back on since.  It is gonna be a hot one this year.

Good idea, I guess I'll do the same. Last year I changed my deflectors from large ones to smaller ones and just rode with the Cee Bailey shield in the down spot. Might try changing to stock shield this year

Hot here in VA finally.

I wouldn't say "finally", it has been fairly hot for fleeting days here and there over the past month.  Parts of this weekend were brutal, for sure.  Of course, Hampton Roads tends to be much hotter than most anyplace else in the Commonwealth.

I think I need some ANTI wind deflectors... "wind collectors"?  The Concours is just too good at wind protection- I can wear mesh, but without air hitting me, it isn't all that effective.  I went from being perpetually frozen to death in cold weather on a ZRX to being cooked to death in warm weather on the Concours.  Can there be no medium?

Agree... I need some custom air scoops to pull cool air towards me.  If someone has a pair of the REALLY nice foam things for the fairing, I need some.  I had a crappy pair that looked like A$$ and tossed them.  I need the good ones to block the heat.

Anyway, here is what is going back on in winter with black hardware.

Masonry sealer... FTW.
