Did all this fit really into my panniers?
« on: May 19, 2012, 12:29:01 PM »
I asked the carry out boy at the commissary if he had ever carried out groceries to a motorcycle.  His reply; "No sir, I've worked here for three years and I have never done that, but you have to many bags to fit on a bike.  Do you have a trailer or something?"  I just laughed and said that I had the fastest "grocery getter" in town.  Needless to say it all fit, and I even had enough room to swing by the Class VI to pick up a sixer of my wife's favorite brew and a bottle of Jim Beam (Red Stag).  Total for my trip was $95 including the booze, so that would have been more like $150-$180 at a normal grocery store, I can't believe how much I can squeeze in............didn't even smash the bread.   ;D

I did an 8 pound pork butt, 6 pack of Sam's Summer Ale, and a frozen pizza yesterday. All in one side, I imagine I could have fit a lot more if I needed to.

It took less time than it did to creatively load the panniers to keep from squishing the peppers, mushrooms, and bread.   ;D

OK, I see that in the next few days, Jeremy is eating steaks, shrimp, scallops, baked potatoes, and having smores over a fire. He's got beer (but those soda bottles are empty) ....... just not sure what your putting the BBQ sauce on?   ;D

Amazing what you can do when you have to.
Several years back my wife and I went to an outlet mall. Bought a bunch of stuff, we forgot we were on the bike, it was a Gold Wing so we had a little more space than the Concours, but we had to take things out of the packing to get it all on the bike, Looks like you got it all home and nothing was smashed, good job.

I didn't even have all the bags unloaded when my daughter and her friends (she had a sleepover last night.  See the legs in the backround?) had their cups filled up with soda.  I told them that if they were still thirsty that I had a perfectly good garden hose in the back yard.  I got a really dirty look from my daughter and I just said "I survived on it, why can't you?"   ;D  The BBQ sauce was for the chicken drummies.  I should have taken a picture of the shrimp/veggie kabobs, they turned out beautifully.
