Power Commander acceleration pump feature
« on: April 18, 2012, 09:50:13 AM »
Anyone knows the effects of this feature on our bike? I'm pretty much set on the PC V and by chance I stumbled upon this feature, and just for the fun of it I'd like to know what it does and if it is worth activating it. It has to do with the slight hesitation of the engine when closing and immediately opening the throttle.
Thanks!

I used it on my 2008 C14 with a PCIII after installing the GiPro TRE and finding I had a hesitation when I went to full throttle at low speeds in 3rd and 4th gear.  Its pretty flexible, you choose the percentage of extra fuel you want, the duration of the extra fuel, and how much throttle opening it takes to activate.  I went with 15 percent added fuel, a half second duration, and 50 percent throttle opening and the hesitation disappeared.

thanks! that's the kind of feedback I was looking for, specially since the values you report are rather different from the basic set that the manufacturer recommends and what I've seen in forums about other bikes like cruisers and crotch rockets.

I've got a PC V w/autotune. Never noticed on/off throttle hesitation. All the references to the accel pump feature I can find relate to the PC 3 usb model. Seems to be used a lot on vtwins.
