Tech-Mount "Control Mount"
« on: April 17, 2012, 04:53:24 PM »
Anyone use the Tech-Mount Control Mount mount their GPS, or more importantly a GoPro?
I was thinking of mounting a GoPro to one, thoughts?

Are you not happy with the GoPro's included sticky mounts?  They seem to work fine for me.

Just a thought Brent, mounting on the bars will lead to a fair amount of wander, I really like the helmet mount, in use and the results.  You've seen how smooth the vids turn out and it will follow your eyes, if you want to see it so do the masses ;)
Also, how much bar space do you have, or are you planning on mounting to the clutch perch?  If you do the clutch perch make sure to get some stainless screws, for some odd reason I have several orange uglies I need to fix :o

I stickied a GoPro to a RAM mount on the handlebar, and also to the windshield.  I prefer the windshield mount.  Haven't tried a helmet mount yet.

Great points guys.
I have a GoPro so I'm not too excited about a helmet mount, but maybe I'll keep thinking about ideas.

I just got that Techmount, which I'm currently using for my Iphone (GPS, phone, music capability) and I really like it.  I removed the extension swivel, and it's perfect.  For camera use, leaving the extension swivel intact would probably be ideal.
