TwoBros dual exhaust?
« on: April 12, 2012, 01:35:52 PM »
All, YouTube has a vid of an 08 Connie with two Bros dual cans. Is this a Connie specific design, or a re-threaded ZX14 set-up using a 14 header and slip- ons? Pretty slick looking.
I have the single slip-on and love the look.

That was CorpSgt (he isn't on here much any more).  He used a ZX-14 header and fabbed up a mount for the left side.  I was 30 minutes away from buying that bike when someone else scooped it up.
Keeping the economy going, one tank of fuel and two tires at a time.

I think that Rob (call sign C1xRider on here) has that setup, a ZX14 header with dual 2bros, you could send him a pm...

Here's a couple pics from the other month when me and Gumbi met him for lunch, his bike is the blue 2010, you can see the dual 2bros in these pics...

(1st pic he is far left side of pic, 2nd pic he is far right side of pic)

Hope this helps, good luck!  :chugbeer:

Just be aware that if you get ZX14 headers while they will bolt straight up:

  • 2006-07 have a smaller midpipe connection diamter than the...
  • 2008+ which also have the same midpipe connection diameter as the Concours

So if you find a set of 06-07 headers (which incidentally don't have catalytic converters) then you must ensure you buy exhausts for that year and Two Brothers DO have 06-07 specific cans.  If you have 06-07 headers and you get exhausts for 08+ the midpipe won't seal to the headers - unless you get a muffler shop to swell the tips to the right diametre, or you get an appropriate gasket fabbed.

And has been mentioned you will need a bracket for the left hand muffler - fab one yourself or buy one from Muzzys

AND lastly, your centre stand lever arm won't clear the midpipe properly so you will have to modify your stand, or get it modded by somewhere like Muzzys, or take it off.

I just bought a set of used Two Brother slip on duals for a 08--12 ZX header, $ 150. + shipping. I'm going with the stock ZX mufflers.

Just updated my post to make it clear it is the header to midpipe connection where the diameter difference can cause you troubles when picking out mufflers.
