GSG slider picture
« on: March 30, 2012, 02:34:21 PM »
I am trying to find a picture that shows the whole side of bike with GSG sliders on. Can someone that owns GSG sliders post a picture? I want to see where these sliders are positioned. Need this for an 08.

I don't have them, but when I was previously researching, I found this pic on an older, baby blue ("silverdamnit") C-14:

Thank you max. Does anyone have any experience it hitting your shin or any other part of your leg? Or is it fairly out of the way. I for one do not have a long in-seam.

Here you go.

The only time I ever have an issue with my shins and the slider is if I stop the bike on an incline and I don't apply the brake to keep the bike from rolling backwards. I've done that twice when I tried to just use my leg power to keep the bike from rolling back. I got a bruise for my trouble, but you know how easy it is to bruise your shins...

As we are telling stories, I have one of my own.  While in Dayton last year, I was coming to a stoplight and found that I could not move my right leg.  Try as I might I couldn't move it.  Seems my jeans leg bottom seam had detached from the right side jeans leg.   The angle of the road was such that I need to put the right leg down.  Fearing the worst, I huffed and puffed and jerked my leg forward free it from the evil jeans loop.  Unfortunately, the momentum was such that I slammed my shin into the GSG slider.  Let me tell you, I have never felt pain like that before.  It hurt for a couple of weeks after that.  The moral of the story is to not let your jeans get the best of you and if they fray at the legs then get yourself a new pair.

Maybe you should just stick to tight spandex pants when riding Sparky...  ;)

I think I'll stick to jeans but I don't trust them as much as I used to.
