IIRC the 4T is made for bikes, so it shouldn't have any friction modifiers (safe for a wet clutch).  This is just my uninformed thoughts on the subject, I could be wrong since I did no research.

FWIW I use regular old truck oil, Rotella 15-40 ($14 a gallon at WalMart) and it has served me well.

I heard (not completely sure) the moble one racing is a thinner oil and handle heat better.

I have also been using Rotella, not bad for $15.

You guys is there a difference between moble one and moble one racing 4T.

Perhaps these sites might be helpful:

How do Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oils Differ from Mobil 1?
http://www.eliteetc.com/howdomo1mocy.html

"Mobil 1 MX4T is designed for sport bikes. Most of these bikes have multi-cylinder/multi-valve engines and use a common sump, which means the engine oil lubricates the engine, transmission and wet clutch. So unlike Mobil 1 for cars, Mobil 1 MX4T has no friction modifiers, which could lead to clutch slippage.

The motorcycle oil also has more phosphorus/zinc for enhanced wear protection at high engine speeds and high loads."

"In addition, Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 has a high performance dispersant/detergent technology for better high-temperature performance and engine cleanliness. Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 is also offered in a different viscosity grade than Mobil 1 for passenger cars. (Updated December 2007)"

OIL THREAD!
AAGGHHHHH!!
Every forum has oil threads, no one ever agrees.
I use the truck stuff too, if it's good enough for a 1/2 million dollar diesel lump, it's probably O.K for most bikes.

She doesn't talk back.  But a big drawback is the fact that she can't make a "sammich".   ;D

No way! I don't believe that for a second. Disliking KiPass would be like disliking Michelin PR2s or Amsoil or apple pie or the Easter Bunny! Downright un- American. Who would do such a thing?

... also a higher price... BUWAAHAAAHAHA!  ;D

I used to run M1 10w50 in my ST1300 when I used to live in Houston, good heavy oil for hot weather... ran great... never had a problem with it... ran Castrol 10w40 dino in my Wing for 32k miles, never had an issue.

As long as you don't see this symbol on the bottle, you can run the oil.  If it has this symbol, it contains friction additives, moly... bad juju for your clutch.

Regular 10w40 HM properties... (no longer Red Cap) don't see any moly...
