So the Farkling begins...
« on: February 25, 2012, 08:00:55 AM »
Hi guys (and ladies),

So I've had my 2012 Connie for 2 days now (in love with it!!!)...only have about 80 miles, but getting ready to go ride in a few...stopping at Harbor Frieght to pick up a WOLO horn (Stebel Nautilous clone)...comes with the relay and wiring for about $35...and you can always grab a 20% coupon from most MC mags...  Installation is not a problem for me as I've done it on my cruiser as well as several SCRC members..but now we have a new bike with a fairing...so...is there a walkthrough on Fairing removal and horn installation anywhere?  I saw a picture gallery, but no text to accompany the pix.

While I have the fairing open/off, I will also do the LED Accent lights...going with Green on the leds, which will look great glowing on my black bike. This is the deal on ebay for the lights (bought these before and they work great! http://www.ebay.com/itm/84LED-MOTORCYCLE-ACCENT-LIGHT-KIT-HARLEY-WIRELESS-GREEN-/260596813702?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cacc7cf86#ht_6250wt_1042

Anyway, I will make sure to take lots of pictures and write up a "how to" article like my others on http://www.RideBellChain.com (you can see how I've customized my Yamaha Royal Star Venture cruiser)...but any help with the fairing would be great.  I'm sure I can figure it out, but I'm willing to bet that I don't know the "gotchas"!

Thanks in advance, and I hope I can make some good contributions to the forum.  :)

Thank you so much Maxtog...I'm on information overload already!  I know better (being that I'm a software developer and all) so I will make sure and search first in the future!  :)

I will post pix when I'm done...  :)

Great!
The search function on this board can be a bit challenging at times, since it seems to overlook some threads and doesn't offer much in the way of options.  But it is still a useful window into a huge body of useful information.   I have gained so much being here, I bet you will too.  It is easy to be overwhelmed, even if you are an I.T. professional (which I am, also :) )
