Heading to the Concours dealer tomorrow!
« on: February 16, 2012, 08:03:58 PM »
Tomorrow I will be reserving my bike....Going with the 2012 Black Concours!!! Will also be ordering the accessories which will include the following, Corbin seat with backrest and smugglers trunk, Cee Bailey tinted short Euro windscreen, Two Bros V.A.L.E slip on exhaust! Next weekend will be reserved for Florida mandated motorcycle class.. ::) and hope to have pics a couple weeks into March. I know I could save $ ordering the accessories off the net, but if I help the dealer keep up on their parts accounts I'm sure they will work with me on Msrp and Prep...now the days are getting skinny! I cant wait! Almost there ;)

Are you 100% on the short screen?  I thought I wanted that as well, but accidentally ordered the standard "Euro" model. This shield is much taller than my 08 came with.  I even went as far as to call C Bailey and ask them to cut it down.  The guy I talked to there talked me out of doing that.

I was instantly ok with the taller version. The stock 08 shield was short and annoying.  It would have looked cool to have a short, tinted model, but  for riding, the taller euro version is amazing. Very comfortable and quiet at even 1/2 way up in adjustment. Never overly tall, though.

Congrats G!

The shorter windshields are great for when it's hot outside. I cut a stocker down ~4 inches just for this.

I don't think that there is but for most of the venders you'll see some info on this at their websites.

I am going with the Two Brothers slip-on as well...like the look and sound, plus I got the pipe and P1X silencer for under $400. Time will tell whether it makes too much noice, besides what is noice to some is music to others.

Sure- that is easy.  There should be essentially zero power output difference by just changing the muffler.

I've seen many articles and dyno runs on slip on exhaust pipes. Rarely do they do much more than a few hp on any bike without other changes. Even this one, put out by the manufacturer, shows only a 4.5 increase.  http://www.motorcyclegear.com/nehp_images/pdf_files/two_bros/dyno_kawcon_08.pdf

Yep.  And even if I believed 4hp, which I don't, that is still essentially zero.  Combined with other SIGNIFICANT upgrades (headers, pipes, maps, k&n filter, etc) it can be useful, but alone it is just noise (and looks and a bit of weight savings).
