Where does my Concours fit in with my new bike?
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:07:33 PM »
Just bought a new roommate for the Concours.  I think there is another member here who has both (sorry that I have forgotten who you are).  This bike is a lot of fun, and damn near as comfortable as the Concours for a "day ride".  I rode it 335 miles Saturday and love the bike.  My friend and I (who also has a Concours and a Ninja like mine, but was on the Concours Saturday) stopped at a gas station on the way home.  A group of guys on true crotch rockets (R1, ZX10r etc) were there.  That all swarmed around the Ninja and one of them said that this is really the perfect bike for street sport riding.  I agree that it probably is, especially for older guys like me.

I think the Ninja has to be pretty close to the perfect all around street-bike.  The machine a person would buy if limited to only one machine.....not that I mind to have one sitting next to my c14.  Fast enough, light enough, and comfortable enough for anything imaginable.  Nice ride!

I am jealous of the huge garage.  My tiny 1 car garage holds my G37S, so the Concours has to live outside in a Cycle Shell (which beats the hell out of a cover, but it is still not the same as a garage).
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

Gotta say that is a heck of line up. I'm with tex though I'd probably lean towards the Z1000. I just likes um a little less dressed.  ;) Must the the old 1200 Bandit lover still biting at me.

Very nice!  It has to be hard going out to the garage each morning and deciding what you will ride or drive.  Not really a bad choice in there, you have every style of riding taken care of.
Keeping the economy going, one tank of fuel and two tires at a time.

Congrats I would have to say you are one of those lucky Buggers who is overbiked and turns the rest of us green with envy. Lol I took one out last year at demo days and would have to say it was a blast.

Nice, if I never rode with a passenger that would have been my choice.  I sat on it and felt very comfortable.

Yes, it's a Z06.  I'm still not wanting to talk much about it, but I'm about to sell it.  This is the toughest decision I've ever made because I don't have to sell it, but it sits too much for me to justify the money sitting in the garage.  I put about 18,000 miles a year on the motorcycles, and about 4,000 on the Corvette.  And we have two decent "daily drivers".  I just decided it makes more sense to put the money into investments (I'm only 6-7 years from retirement).  It will be gone by the end of this week.

I appreciate all the comments.  Yes, I do feel blessed to be able to have these toys.

Nice. The Ninja and the Z1000 are both at the top of my list. I would probably lean more towards the Z1000 just based on looks.
