Horizon ST Helibars
« on: February 12, 2012, 08:00:44 AM »
Does anyone around the Naples fl. area have the Horizon ST bars?
I saw those 2" risers on a local bike, but I don't like the looks of them , I would like to see the Horizon ST in person before I order them? I see Helibars will do free installs at the Daytona bike week , not sure I can drive that far with the way my hands go numb on short runs! They kind of look like the BMW LT bars.
(I do have a trailer but that's not right)

PS any pictures or feedback?

I have a set on my bike.  They have been the best thing I ever added to it.  My 08 is setup for long distance riding and sitting on the bike for 23 hours in some cases is no longer an issue for my back.

I live just north of Tampa in Bushnell.  I could meet you in between for lunch one day if you like, somewhere around Sebring or Wauchula maybe?

PM me if your interested.

Maybe that was me.  Haven't installed them yet, though...  Haven't had the time to do it.

I just came back from a ride and I tried to squeeze the tank with my knees  and push back to get pressure off my hands and it did help.
Not sure why I'm such a baby now ( old age?)  all my other bikes were about the same  seating position ,  I never had a windshield, just don't remember the hand pain problems?
The Horizon bars look like they might move me back too far?
I 'm not going on any  long rides like a lot of you , I bought the bike for night rides, doing   estimates , collecting $ $  , I race outboard drag boats so I'm forced to drive a lot , I drive around town all day , the bike is just to make part of my work , more intresting (fun)
The ST's look nice from the pictures, I guess I'll take a ride north and see Mike from Bushnell before I buy.
Thanks for the replys...  V Jim let us know your feelings  once you get them on

Getting older sucks.  Each year I seem to add yet another problem.  But the alternative to getting older is.... well..... death.
