Decisions, Decisions.. So many farkles so little time
« on: February 07, 2012, 11:50:05 AM »
What order to install my Farkles...

I have the Full Muzzy Exhaust and the ZX14 throttle body's along with Autotune module to install.  I really would like to get a dyno after the exhaust install then install the throttle bodies and get another dyno but I doubt they will let me do just exhaust then dyno then return with throtlebody's to do another dyno without charging me additional.  So I guess it all goes on at the same time and then one dyno at the end unless anyone has a better sugestion...

You need a min. of two dyno runs. One before anything has been installed and then one after. That's the only way that you'll be able to tell (with some accuracy) what the performance gains were.

Yes you are correct.  I think I will just install everything allow for autotune to adjust a bit then do the dyno to show me where I'm at.  I know what it is from the factory.  I know  this is not 100% accurate for measuring gain but after I thought about it I don't care I really just want to know where I'm at when I'm all finished because trying to do before and after dyno's for every upgrade would be time consuming and costly.

Cheap dyno = 1/4 mile MPH. :)

Do a few runs and log the weather conditions (prior to mods). Do a few runs post-mods and look at your MPH increase.... a little math for weather variance will tell the tale. Hell, you could even swap exhaust in the pits (and the PCV + base map) to see what it does back to back.

Dyno's are nice tuning tools, but the real proof is always on the time slip. :)

+1... that's ALL I did (comfort & safety).  I can definitely and immediately tell my comfort/safety mods are there- no dyno or 1/4 mile run confirmations needed to assure me there might be some little change for MY money ;)

Besides, the Concours already performs plenty damn good, stock!
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

Definately do a before and after run on the same dyno Phoenix, it's the best way to document your gain bro!

I won't have a before as the bike is already tore down and new Exhaust is expected today.  I could do a pull with the full Muzzy Exhaust then another later after the zx14 throttle body's but none in stock form.   Plus wouldn't I have to pay for two seperate dyno sessions to do a before and after?  That can get expensive :(

I know there are a bunch of us who would love to see this done!  There have been forum members who said they were gonna do the same but then just disappeared without giving us any info.   :'(

Yes I know as I was one waiting...  I will check on the prices to see how much difference it is and if it is reasonable I may do it...

I'll let you know what I find out...  It will take a bit though as I just installed the Muzzy tonight and need to finish the autotune and then put some miles on her to allow for the autotune to work...
